A doctor wouldn’t work as pharmacist w/o qualifications but reverse isn’t true
Pharmacists are great at medications, why be pretend GPs?

7 common conditions @ pharmacy first- cost £48/ appointment
Cost of GP appointment- £20 for any and all conditions
NHS has No money for core GP practices so they either have to make staff redundant or close down
We’ve also introduced our important new Pharmacy First service so that people can now directly access advice and treatment from their local pharmacy for seven common conditions. The service aims to free up c.10 million appointments a year in General Practice by next winter 9/x.

A first year medical student spends more time in General Practice than this and we don’t even allow fully qualified doctors training to be GPs to locum at practices
“The national curriculum specifies a min of 180 hrs ie 5 weeks” of PA training is spent in general practice.
5 weeks!!!

Odd that a consultant is incapable of prescribing 28days of BB when dealing with a patient and has to send a letter to GP to get it done.
Wouldn’t it be quicker, better for patient and logical for a consultant to do the script?
A very stroppy letter from a GP in response to our cardiology recommendation to merely increase the patient's beta blocker dose.
"I feel nothing more than a glorified administrator" the GP wrote.
I am not sure what else we could do.

Desperate GPs (at pinnacle of career) have to accept £32/hr
Just received this. “We have just hired a newly qualified GP at £32/h in our urgent care. While I have to get the best deal for our business it makes me sick at the same time”

I've now seen three different sets of specialty specific guidance for anesthesia, since I passed the FRCA in 2019. It was pretty disheartening to realise all the evidence I gathered between 2019 and 2021 would be valueless after the curriculum change.
I may yet start again.

PAs have been told they are highly skilled generalists (they are not as you really need a steady foundation to be a generalist and they don’t have that) and so believe that they can do GP work easily

I have seen several PAs asked this one question- some divert and go on a tangent, some are belligerent and abusive, others start playing the victim saying they are being bullied
Not a single PA has actually answered which in itself is the answer
