I had a very warm welcome in sunny Liverpool from @MetroMayorSteve and the team today. We met with employers, colleges and universities from the region to discuss how the government’s Plan for Change will help match skills and training opportunities with good local jobs.

Great to meet with business leaders with the @britishchambers this morning to discuss how the spending review and infrastructure strategy will help drive growth. The government is working with business to break down barriers and unlock investment.

I know from my own experience how important it is to give every child the chance to succeed. That’s why the Prime Minister is making it clear today that we will have zero tolerance to low expectations at school. 📰👉

Had a great day in Erewash today with @adamthompson111 to visit a brilliant affordable housing scheme being built with help from @HomesEngland. Our Plan for Change will deliver 1.5m new homes across the country, with a focus on more affordable and social housing.

For the first time in 17 years, government will review how every pound of tax payers money is being spent. In the spending review, we will make sure public spending delivers our Plan for Change.
