Born at 7:38 am, sixteen years ago today, we thought we’d have all the time in the world to know you. I’m forever sorry I couldn’t keep you safe. Precious & much loved - we will keep pushing for safer maternity care in your name. #RememberingJoshua

Losing a child isn’t a singular event that fades with time, it’s an eternal absence that grows and changes with you. Remembering Joshua who would have turned 14 today ❤️ #neverforgotten

This time 16 year ago today we held you in our arms for the last time. Then the cold, smoky air & crackle of fireworks as we walked across the hospital car park, got into our car & somehow drove home. Forever sorry that we didn’t get to take you with us Joshua. #alwayloved

I treasure this photo of Joshua being cradled by his sister & grandfather - gone from our arms forever just days later. The simplest of medical care could have saved his life. Thinking of all bereaved parents in #BLAW2022 & thanking everyone working to improve maternity safety.

A difficult photo 2 share, but this is the memory of my son that I have etched on my mind & can't escape. When I see my daughters sleeping, I often have flashbacks to this image. The life changing consequences of #babyloss r profound - we must do more to improve maternity safety.

The @TheGreenParty manifesto states :- “We will change the culture of the NHS so that birth is treated as a normal, non medical event”. Sad to see a political party promoting such a harmful message. Let’s change the culture in the NHS to one that strives to ensure as few women &

After speaking at todays regional PSIRF event, 2 midwives approached me & told me about the positive difference they felt Joshua’s life had made. It’s been a pretty tough week & I can’t express enough how much that meant to hear. #rememberingjoshua

This Christmas will be the first since Joshua’s death that we haven’t been waiting for some form of inquiry/investigation/report relating to what happened. An unimaginably painful journey. Thinking of our little boy who should be looking forward to his 11th Christmas #RIPJoshua

Tomorrow would have been Joshua’s 10th Birthday. We can’t give him any presents but Hoa, Emily, Jessica and I have just ordered a memorial bench for him & chosen a beautiful little spot in the grounds of conishead priory to place it. #neverfogotten.

Have avoided commenting on the strike action so far, but for what it’s worth, I think junior doctors are right to demand better pay & conditions. People using the NHS want the people caring for them to be paid inline with the responsibility & professionalism the role demands.
@CarverEmily 1. Yes .2. Even at the top end of a “junior doc” which is a very experienced doc -it’s 28£/hr - that’s pretty low.3. Not matching inflation can only be “ok” for so long.4. You shouldn’t have to rely on overtime to pay your bills-a big one being outstanding debts. Hope that helps.

Today is #WorldPatientSafetyDay. A heartfelt thanks to everyone working to make healthcare safer. It’s approaching 15 years since Joshua’s death & whilst there’s been change since, there’s not been enough. Let’s keep working together for a better future - so much more to do. ❤️

Not sitting on the fence with this one - this is a terrible decision & needs to be urgently reversed.
NHS England is rolling back its mental health support for NHS hospital staff. No new patients will be accepted. given the parlous state of services and how some staff can be broken by their work this seems a backwards step.

No words can describe my shock, disbelief and sadness at this news. One of the worst acts of wrongdoing in the history of the NHS. Thoughts and prayers with the families involved - their journey is only just beginning. The ramifications of this news will be profound. #letby.

The cost of harm from clinical negligence in maternity services is now more than twice the entire cost of providing maternity care in England. - a shocking statistic following research by @babylifeline & analysis by @thetimes . #maternitysafety .

The saddest part of today - listening to @NadineDorries describe why the gov is not supporting the reinstatement of the mat safety training fund. We have a system that pays out £6.5m / day in maternity litigation but we can’t fund training to maintain safe care in the place.

The doctor who helped catch Lucy Letby told ITV News that 'babies could've been saved' if the hospital had acted sooner. Dr Ravi Jayaram, who is a consultant paediatrician at the Countess of Chester Hospital, told @PaulBrandITV he repeatedly raised concerns about his former

On the last day of #NLNB22, families whose babies have died as a consequence of a lack of timely intervention/siloed working/maternity care where blinkered ideology trumped safety - have been sharing photos. This is Joshua. He would have been 14 in November.
