True Classic is crushing it. We've seen the tweets, "True Classic is the fastest-growing brand ever."
That's not true.
I've seen 500+ proprietary P&Ls and brands' Shopify customer exports, and I can confirm: some DTC brands have grown faster and further at scale.
I talked with a founder who grew from $0 to $30M in revenue in one year with 30% EBITDA margins. What happened the following two years? Stagnant.
Their problem: HIRING. The team was (& still is) the 3 founders who couldn't get out of their own way to scale. Never hired anyone.
Why do grown adults say "hey buddy"? Does anyone on the receiving end of "hey buddy" actually like it? Seems like calling someone buddy to their face sunsets around the age of 12. Just gets demeaning after that.

You're not going to care when you're 60 that you made Partner at 33 vs 35.
You're not going to care that you had a successful exit at 38 vs 40.
Slow down. Enjoy life.
Investors don't care about profitability.
I've personally invested over $1B in dozens of startups. Hop inside the mind of today's investor.
Sure, we hear a lot more today about profitability than we did before. But profitability isn't actually what investors care about.

What's the highest LTV:CAC you've ever seen?
During COVID, I saw some rare DTC brands reach 5-6 LTV:CAC, calculated as post-fulfillment five-year customer value divided by CAC.
Best in class post-COVID was closer to 4. Your target should be >3.

Easiest fix: Your shipping should be USPS’s flat rat of $8.50 (1-3 day delivery). I believe you’re using one of these larger Shopify 3PLs. Switch to regional 3PL to get $1.25. That’s $2.75 of quick savings.
