Starmer himself is rather unpopular - polling behind Sunak as preferred PM, even as the Tories implode. Voters are ready for change certainly, but they clearly have little faith or trust in Starmer. Hardly surprising imho. He’s proven himself to be dishonest and dishonourable.

I grew up looking forward to a Labour govt and was quickly disappointed by Blair. From 97 to 17 I voted Green but always considered myself a disillusioned Labour man. Starmer has killed the Labour Party. These days I am proud to be a paid up Green Party member.

Labour are taking the left for granted. Taking us for fools, in fact. Given that Starmer is the principal obstacle to PR, the quickest way to get it on a Labour manifesto is probably to prove them wrong about that and withdraw our votes. We have no other power in a democracy.

Another angle: a woman was being driven to hospital in her son's car because an ambulance was not available. An ambulance would have been allowed through the traffic and the protest line. Years of Tory cuts and underfunding to the NHS contributed directly the woman's death.
