You had plenty of time to stop. What cyclists seem to fail to understand is that this doesn’t happen because you’re a cyclist, this driver would have done this to another car. You were far enough back and moving slow enough to stop. No real issue.

I understand the sentiment but almost everyone “excluded” is excluded by their own choice. If someone chooses to practice a faith that doesn’t allow them to enter a pub, then that’s their choice. We shouldn’t have to accommodate everyone’s choices all of the time.

Unfortunately a large minority of motorcyclists turn the road into a racetrack. 110mph. Disgraceful and whilst I wish the rider no harm, he brought it all on himself. A miracle he didn’t cause a fatal collision with another road user.

We can’t put everything underground. That was the death of HS2 - hiding it from view. In an ideal world sure, but with finite resources, there’s an opportunity cost to paying extra £ to put things underground, and I’d say one we can’t afford.

I believe road cyclists should. I’m often told that many road cyclists pay very little for their premiums, and are even typically covered by their car insurance premiums. You can want this and understand that drivers need it too.

The sentencing document indicated she knew she was 14 weeks pregnant by February 1st, 2020. 90% of abortions are carried out by 12 wks. When the government announced lockdown, she was 21 weeks pregnant. The limit as you know, is 24 weeks. She had plenty of time before lockdown.

So blocking the road would be fine, but blocking the cycle path isn’t fine? Cyclists can just use the road, or take a different route, as drivers do, when roads are closed, or when there are roadworks. It’s not difficult.

I think the point is that there are a lot of cyclists on Twitter, seemingly emboldened by Vine, who simply won’t engage with the idea that cyclists also break the rules. They minimise, deflect and sometimes just ignore it, all to moan endlessly about how bad drivers are.
