I had to point out that one thing is they could make shade legal.
The building we're in has a large overhang that provides shade but the city made it illegal to stand under it

Man, I kind of hate when cities spend a ton on making things like bus stops "art" but then miss all the things a bus stop should do.
This doesn't shade or cover the bench, it doesn't have a trash can, it doesn't have a light, and it doesn't have a bus schedule.
I want function!

If Strong Towns wants to be a viable organization and movement, they have to jettison Chuck. Between his anti-LGBT stance and his recent attempts at contrarian nonsense like this, he is actively harming the organization.
The U.S. is in a massive housing bubble fueled by widespread fraud. Banks are incentivized to look away, and Wall Street and Washington are incentivized to keep housing prices artificially high.

Denver zoning prohibits any building around Coors Field from being taller than the stadium to prevent people from getting to watch terrible baseball for free.

So many activists will talk about the problems caused by high housing costs but when you ask what policies they support to bring down costs they say things like For Cause Eviction and Rent Control/Stabilization.
Policies that, while good, do nothing to bring down housing costs!

This is why separating your stormwater from your wastewater (ie sewage) is key! Most cities built them to share a pipe but this means when it rains the waste treatment plants can't handle all the excess flow and have to open bypasses, dumping that untreated water into the river

Umm I watched a documentary where a business buys the trolley cars in LA to shut them down and build highways instead. They even tried to get the deed to ToonTown to run the highway through it. Very true story

While biking home from work, I got pushed into traffic on Wynkoop by a UPS truck parked in the bike lane. Asked the DPD officer standing 5 feet away if he could do anything about it and he said no, it wasn't his job.

I'm here at Hampden Middle School where some of the worst people in Denver are here blocking housing for families and children. Please email your city council members and the mayor to let them know how important this project is.
This is a critical project that is facing a ton of opposition from rich neighbors. Please come to Hamilton Middle School on Saturday at 10am to show that they don't speak for all Denverites.

Fare gates, red light and speed cameras, speed bumps and road diets, this is what defunding the police actually looks like. If you want fewer armed cops with biases running around, we need more things like this
Through the use of thoughtful design, BART prevented 500+ fare evasions a day, increasing revenue without hiring any new cops or arresting anyone.
