You don’t have to have multiculturalism to be multi-ethnic. Minorities should just assimilate fully into the local culture and adopt its values. Most people wouldn’t have any problem with black people if they acted exactly like white people.

The word adelphoi cannot be translated as cousins because the words means brothers. Sure it’s possible to refer to anyone not blood-related as a “brother” but if you wanted to make it clear that it’s a cousin you could just use the Greek word for cousin, which they didn’t.
