7 years of my childhood was spent living in Hawaii. When I was 5 years old (living on O'ahu) we got horses and I learned how to ride.
I remember exploring the nearby woods alone or with a friend as my mom cleaned our horses' stalls.
Hawaii is where my love for nature began.

Last year I applied in a lottery for overnight camping in The Enchantments Traverse.
Over 20,000 entries went in.
I won.
I was 5 mo post C-section when we went. I knew it would be terrifying carrying my toddler up Aasgard, but having this trip to train for was so good for me.

I made an epsom salt spray for sore muscles by simmering the salts in a near boiling pot of water on the stove and then transferring the solution to a small glass spray bottle.
I also spray my toddler's feet to promote better sleep.
So simple & so affordable.
10/10 recommend

I was in a serious riding accident. Horse reared up, slipped on gravel, fell on top of me and the horn of the saddle punctured my body. I had to get 24 stitches (10 internal, 14 external).

My toddler loves her title of "little adventurer" so much that Backpacker was able to get her to take a few more bites of steak at dinner last night by saying,

Finally got tired of all of the broken crayons in my house and made them into "cupcake crayons" 🧁🖍️
How to:
-remove wrappers (can soak in water to make easier)
-put into silicone molds or baking cups
-bake at 275 for 25-30 min (until melted)
-let completely cool before using

You *can* tell your doctor to shove it.
Many parents are unaware they can say "no" to the doctor.
The doctor can recommend anything they want and the patient has the final say.
Don't want chemo?
Don't want vaccines?
Don't want surgery?
Tell the doctor to shove it.
Very few exceptions and always edge cases.

Our local Costco has been impressing me with all of their organic & gluten free options lately!
