Vote Y for the ballot measure to get algebra back in SFUSD 8th grade. Many are ready for algebra in grade 8 & many are not. Everyone deserves to be challenged & supported at their level of understanding. We need more than ballot measures. We need massive reform.
I’m introducing a ballot measure urging San Francisco’s public schools to let kids take algebra in the 8th grade. We make everyone wait until 9th grade because some kids aren’t ready for algebra sooner. Let’s better prepare all students instead of holding back kids who love math.

The bottom line is the board is responsible for fiscal management & stakeholder satisfaction. Keeping schools closed with no plan & alienating the majority of stakeholders (see survey data) caused people to flee the district causes drastic reduction in funding.

I live near DP & was not home last night but have attended the bomb several times. I never felt threatened or experienced property damage. I don’t remember seeing a large contingent of police officers, faces behind masks, pointing weapons.
Why was this year different?

Our officers did their jobs & did them with restraint. Why do some make excuses for this dangerous and selfish behavior? Nothing stopped this group from getting permits, and no one forced them to hold a neighborhood hostage. How would you feel if you lived here?
