I am getting a lot of questions about tactical voting. The fact is that in the last PCC election in Thames Valley Labour was a strong second. The Lib Dems have never done better than 3rd. This is what The Stop The Tories site says.
Out in the sunshine listening to residents in

this morning with
@ParmjitDhanda
and all the Chesham team. Very positive and useful conversations about neighbourhood policing and police response times.
Loved joining in the Nagar Kirtan procession with

in Slough today. Despite the rain, thousands joined the Vaisahki celebrations. Delicious food along the route too.
Powerful letter in

calling on politicians of all parties to work together to keep us safer on the roads, and to give this issue the priority it urgently needs.

Visited the beautiful Florence Park in Cowley, Oxford this afternoon and the amazing Flo’s cafe with

Sadly learning about problems with drug use in the park and safety on nearby Rymers Lane due to poor street lighting.
Concerning discussion with

a charity set up by families bereaved by gambling related suicides m. In my work as a barrister, I have seen how spiralling gambling debts can lead people to crime to finance their addiction. Time to ban gambling advertising. Lab23#
The starting point for taking on the job of Police and Crime Commissioner is taking a balanced view of how the force is performing now. I’ve written a short blog post with links to the recent inspection of the force and Thames Valley crime stats.
Fantastic to be out in the sunshine talking to residents in Didcot. Praise for their local police officers - underlining the importance of neighbourhood policing.
Today in the Times. Yesterday in the Telegraph and today in the Times. We are sending out a CLEAR message that those wo seek to divide communities, who use terms and malicious tactics to divide Muslims and Jews will NEVER succeed.
I welcome the strong focus on prevention from a number of Oxford City councillors, many of whom I have spoken to about knife crime and other policing issues in the areas they represent.
Hits the nail on the head. Associating a lawyer with their client undermines the rule of law. But then every day the Tories show us that they don’t care about the rule of law.
Well I, for one, am glad the Tory barristers and solicitors in ministerial posts only represented *good* people - and never the bad - during their years in courts and tribunals.
Perhaps they could all confirm?
And - because they can’t confirm that - maybe they could speak up?

After a couple of days to process, I’m fine on a personal level because I’m a positive, forward looking person. Please don’t try and make political capital after me saying “I’m fine”.
We’re working hard on delivering projects to prevent youth crime in our city and support young people.

Since Thursday I have had voters writing to me saying they felt misled into tactically voting Lib Dem and regretted it. I won’t take any lessons from the Lib Dems about honesty.

Tonight I have written to our MP asking him if he supports the disgraceful comments made by the Home Secretary.

This is very disturbing. Carl Jackson is my local councillor. I’ll write to him today to ask him to confirm if a) he wrote these homophobic comments b) if so, he would like to withdraw them and apologise.
Senior Presiding Judge, Edis LJ, has asked judges to adjourn, from next week, the sentencing of offenders who are on bail where custody is likely to be imposed. The prison estate is full.
Here’s my response to the City University survey of “Rape and sexual assault survivor’s experience of the police”.
3/4 believed their interaction with police had damaged their mental health.
Shocked to see

frogmarched from the Tory conference today for calling out Suella Braverman’s “homophobic rant”. He’s a decent, serious politician in an increasingly Trumpian party.

Not at all. I was passionate about doing this job because 22 years working in the criminal justice system has shown me what needs to change. I am very sad about not having the chance to do that. My aim was always to win.

These were the actual results. Had the Lib Dems not been erroneously telling people that they were the main challengers to the Tories we’d have got the extra 0.5% to win. Have you learnt anything from this?

As a parent of teenagers living in a rural area, giving communities a say on bus routes is SO important. I want my kids to be able to travel safely and independently. (I also seem to spend a lot of time acting as a taxi service…)

Labour’s position has been transformed since the last PCC election in 2021. My experience is that a lot of former Conservative voters are supporting my positive campaign. When Corbyn was leader people did rule out Labour as too left wing, I’m simply not finding that today.

Most weeks I am prosecuting rape trials. Often these cases involve one person’s word against another, with little other evidence. In those circumstances, the jury will need to be sure that what the complainant is saying is truthful and reliable.

Most people can see that an election won by 0.5% could go either way. When you said Labour was out of the race you were clearly wrong. When you said it was a race between Lib Dems and Tories you were clearly wrong.
