Slavery features in the Mesopotamian Code of Hammurabi (c. 1750 BC). Britain wasnโt even Britain then. You could have said the first country to abolish Slavery in 1807 and then 1838 across its Empire. Oh France banned it first then reintroduced it so they donโt count!

For the benefit of facts. Rather than anti monarchy republican sentiments. The Royal Family cost the UK taxpayer 77p per person per year. (FOI information freely available) They generate ยฃ1.76 billion in money into the uk. So ยฃ25.88 per person year. We are better off by ยฃ25.11.

Today here on X I had an interesting discussion where those involved, used dialogue & constructive argument to learn each otherโs position then find a middle ground. No one resorted to name calling or abuse. I then went for a bike ride and felt good about life.Thx

So this is really interesting. I have PTSD diagnosed (years of trauma and military elements) but I also have depression and related issues. On one hand itโs not a competition around illness. You canโt judge your trauma against anotherโs. But using it as a reason for behaviour?

To be fair I think Christianity did its rioting and killing a few hundred years ago. Britain was becoming quite a secular country. But now it does feel quite the tinder box where โBeliefsโ are put before compassion of oneโs neighbours.

The question I would ask is that why didnโt CPS counter these elements of defence and mitigating issues before trial? Why didnโt the Police counter these defences? Was the officer in uniform? If the answer is yes then how would he not know that they were police? Etc, etc etc
