This piece from the leading research journal 'Developmental Science' gathers together the evidence showing how the pandemic affected all periods of children's lives. We cannot talk about 'behaviour' without reference to this developmental context.

While the press focuses on badly behaved young people, I thought I would remind us of the book that Children's Commissioner Al Aynsley-Green published in 2018. The British Betrayal of Childhood: Challenging Uncomfortable Truths and Bringing About Change

"They've appointed this nutter - Tim Brighouse." I returned home from an inspirational day with @ElliotSchools wanting to remind myself about the intersection of innovation, resistance & insistence. Nuance is so powerful. @realdcameron

The determination of the @GiveTimeScot Team is remarkable. It is shameful that they need to use that energy to create equity for children.

Another hefty week of absorbing the concerns of parents and families across Scotland. For nearly 7 years, we’ve campaigned to expose local authority failures affecting children. But no one can hold councils, senior officers or councillors to account

I spent the day with the 40 Headteachers of Academy Trust @ElliotSchools. We talked all day about biology - about where uncomfortable emotions & trauma are trapped -- and about how societal systems & school environmnts exacerbate that. We talked about what schools can do to help.

Hey look @CrownHousePub @realdcameron. It's another Tim Letter Recipient! This is Jo at @ElliotSchools , who remembers getting a letter as an NQT. "It came on headed paper, which made it important. He told me I would make a great teacher. Yes, of course I still have the letter!"
