Press release -
@MetBPA
Statement following
@NBPAUK
Suspension of support for the National Police Chief Council & College of Policing Race Action Plan.
“I made the
#stephenlawrencedaypledge
because I want to raise awareness against racial inequality and I believe that we need to inspire a more equitable, inclusive society, that fosters opportunities for marginalised young people in the UK.”
A well known pattern of behaviour regularly inflicted on black and black heritage staff/officers, with 81% misconduct disproportionality confirmed in Baroness Casey's report.
Prolific enablers in the shadows.
"Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere."
"the legal chair of the disciplinary panel raised concerns that it was her senior Met Police ex, not her, who had at times appeared to be engaging in coercive control." Appears to be a relentless pursuit of Black officers in the Met
People of integrity do not hide their reactions or opinions. They do not manipulate others through deception and they do not pretend to be something they are not.
A reminder that no matter our differences, we work the same job and deserve the same recognition!
Embracing diversity and inclusion is what makes us stronger together!
#UnityInDiversity
#InclusionMatters
Sending healing thoughts and well wishes to our brave member and colleague Sergeant Christian Igwegbe who was attacked last night while fearlessly fulfilling his duty as a Custody Officer.
Your resilience and dedication is an inspiration to us all.

@andygeorgeni
Shocking admission of dereliction of duty by
@PeterLl60920476
which is not surprising.
I am glad to know that you are no longer serving as an officer in the Met.
Luckily, you can still be prosecuted!
West Yorkshire Police
@WestYorksPolice
has launched their Police Race Action Plan, a plan to improve policing for Black people living in West Yorkshire in partnership with Black community groups across the region.

@metpoliceuk
A refreshing perspective displaying leadership as it should be!
Being a leader does not replace who you are as a person nor does it stop you from having an informed view backed by empirical evidence based data and/or expressing them in a democratic society.
@JohnAmaechi
👆🏾I'm all of the above, plus plus...
I'm anti-disablism and ableism.
I'm anti-bullying.
I'm anti-accent bias.
I'm anti-incivility of any description. - They must be wiped out!
I have always strongly supported the Peelian Principles and policing by consent.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss Principle 7 in detail, to exchange opinions and views.
@andygeorgeni
@No1552
The courageous individuals who recounted their lived experiences in the Casey report case studies and the silent majorities were badly let down by leadership.
Not a single leader held accountable and there is no indication it will ever happen. A crying shame!
@mpfvicechairman
@metpoliceuk
Rick, please elaborate on -
"Identity Politics and go further down the Critical Race Theory rabbit hole, no doubt."
Hopefully, you are not in disagreement with the current drive to improve Culture Diversity and Inclusion in the the Met!
@NBPAUK
@NPCCRaceReligon
@PoliceISOB
Now more than 1,000 young men on the list, even though they were classed by the Met as posing little or no risk of violence, have been removed.(sic)
@MetBPA
welcomes this move!

@Janet_Hills
sorry this happened to you.🥺
The level of subtle overt racism is pernicious to societal norms and hinders any real or meaningful changes.
Too many insidious characters feeding off the trough.
The
#LyingCopsFundraiser
has now deleted all comments from its donation pages. Luckily I took some screenshots before they did. They really emphasise the attitudes of current and ex cops…. 🧵

Andy, we the underrepresented groups agree with your stance in calling out matters of racial disproportionalities and disparities where they arise.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with you and others who believe in fair and equitable justice without fear or favour.
@andygeorgeni
“We’ve made it something that you can’t say in the open anymore, but that people still obviously think and feel is acceptable - that’s the worrying bit.” (sic)
👇🏾
We see it in cases of subtle racism against
@MetBPA
members, ethnically diverse colleagues and communities!
@mpfvicechairman
@metpoliceuk
@itvnews
Not surprising you publicly disrespect a black senior Met leader in such a divisive manner!
Your views and position are clearly not about community cohesion or solutions for the identified epidemic issues impacting the wider communities!
@fatwhitebloke
@brianpaddick
@Liberal_Isms
We see this every time people raise concerns or complaints.
Too many good people are damaged and left feeling downtrodden for how long?😏
It is pointless doing the same thing expecting different results!
@MetBPA
The Met-BPA welcomes the judgement by the High Court.
A full statement will follow which reflects the position of our members and the views of our diverse communities!
@andygeorgeni
The governing body says his revelations have prompted it to fast-track publication of a new strategy to promote inclusion in the elite game.

Leading by example is not just words on a piece of paper or speeches at interviews!✊🏾

"I sobbed my heart out when I saw the statistic that black officers and staff were 81% more likely to receive a misconduct allegation than their white colleagues."
A score of 81% would be seen as a fantastic distinction!
How would you relate this percentage in negative terms?
@andygeorgeni
@NBPAUK
This is abhorrent on so many levels in a society that purports to be democratic and advanced!
I hope this threat is wholeheartedly condemned with appropriate legal action taken to protect you and your family.
@SholaMos1
@mpfvicechairman
Rick, such a brilliant precedent that should then be afforded to all Met Fed members who happen to face GM hearings!
It would be unfair to discriminate.
It is also important to consider the impact of policing actions on London's diverse communities as equity is essential.
@CEO_SSAF
"We all experience it, but we all develop our own coping mechanisms. You either take flight, fight or acquiesce. Very few fight, not for very long, because it's too big a battle. Acquiesce? it's easier, but uncomfortable; you've got your principles, your culture and your pride."
It is important to reflect on what matters most for those impacted, and of course their lived experiences must be captured directly for legitimacy of purpose!
@andygeorgeni
When members of the community care enough to criticise police actions as public servants, it is because they want their police to be the best!
It should not be about the police vs community .
Attacking retired officers for seeking changes is against the Peelian Principles!

"I even smile wryly when I think back to meeting in secret as we formed the first Black Police Association within the West Midlands because Black and Asian officers coming together to share their experiences was perceived by some as being both subversive and divisive" 🤔

Just simply admitting these Lived Experiences now, doesn't take away the horrid continued pain if nothing is done about it!😏
Still too many people are suffering in silence, being subjected to these highlighted revolting actions and behaviours!🤷🏾♂️
A date informs a country's history. It cannot be ignored, regardless of questions and or assertions relating to dust or twinkle of progress in action!✊🏾
Naijas, please let's Buga gently today o!🙌🏾 ☺️
@Janet_Hills
Agreed 💯 everybody can change their mind.
The National Decision Model (NDM), regularly used for delivering policing services speaks to the need for continuous assessment of the landscape, pertinent points, information and of course the communities.

Resonates with personal lived experiences!

Not to mention the disproportionalities in misconduct process now well over Casey's 81% and the abuse of reg 13 process mostly used on recruits from underrepresented groups!
@brianpaddick
@andygeorgeni
Lived Experiences are challenged and ignored, whilst perpetrators are looked after and promoted!
Rancid culture that is prevalent still in existence. Too many still at the receiving end of this horror!😏
@andygeorgeni
@KarenGeddesQPM
It is essential that we always put the National Race Action Plan at the top of the agenda until it is fully implemented!
The police will regain trust only when this is achieved!
@BenLDN_
@NBPAUK
We need racism and disproportionate targetting of Black, Asian minority officers, staff and communities left in the past. The boycott was due to attempts to diminish our ability to provide the support you received at a critical time for many

How do you reset what is not accepted?
Baroness Casey's report exposed revolting, insidious racist culture against black and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities.
Leadership and management were also found wanting!
@CEO_SSAF
One subject matter that is an integral part of German education is learning about the rise of National Socialism & the Holocaust. Since 1992, German government has required the inclusion of Holocaust education in all secondary schools (Boschki, Reichman, & Schwendemann, 2010).

Thank you Abi.
@MetBPA
raised this particular point, as well as all issues listed in the interim Casey report.
As the chair, I will continue to raise these seriously damaging concerns on behalf of our members, colleagues and communities.
I expect the usual attacks!
@Janet_Hills
An individual with such views became a senior leader in police service, further more, obtained position of influence over policing diverse communities in the 21st century as a PCC !
This gives credence for
#BLM
protests
"Speaking up can also result in negative performance evaluation, undesirable job assignments, or even termination 'deploying insidious tactics to undermine'. Most people are aware of these potential costs; as a result, most stay quiet about bias, injustice, and mistreatment."😏

AA is not about discriminating against any group. It's about equitable recruitment, retention and promotion on a level footing one for one. Refusing to see it as such is similar to not admitting IR exists! 🤷🏾♂️
@CEO_SSAF
@officerce
It is nearly three decades since Sir William McPherson reported on police culture.
We've had no meaningful change or anything remotely close to seeing changes in police culture.
@andygeorgeni
@CEO_SSAF
@MetBPA
Glad we were able to have this meeting. It was indeed an open, honest conversation about how IR negatively impacts the lived experiences of the diverse brave staff/officers & members of the community who shared accounts of their pain.

Sheikhy is an absolute legend, a man of honour and integrity! There's no doubt about his positive influence on policing in UK and Canada. Sheikh helped me grow. I have it on good authority that he did the same for a lot of colleagues both sides of the pond.🙌🏾
@andygeorgeni
Resonates?👇🏾🤔
"The whole energy of a few individuals in the CQC was spent on gunning me down, rather than focusing on improvement to patient safety and exerting the regulatory duties,"
@LDaviesEJ
The violence against women and girls aka VAWG drive and or project must not ignore the intersectional elements.
How are they taken into consideration and to what extent?
@NBPAUK
@SirIanBlair
@policecommander
I disagree with your comparison to nursery playground. It is quite clear that parliament is a congregation of warped minded collectives, too busy dipping their snout into troughs, whilst ignoring their purpose & mandates bestowed on them by electorates..!
