As we approach the final days of Ramadan. A big thank you to all staff at the National forces. This year we have seen so much on social media around Ramadan experiences and challenges with support provided to colleagues across. It’s great to see how far we have come in policing.
Sorry I haven’t responded sooner or individually to all the kind messages I have had, I am overwhelmed and truly grateful for the honour and the support I get form all of you, without it I wouldn’t be where I am. Thank You.
Today marks the half way point of Ramadan. We just want to say thank you to staff from the National forces that have shared their stories in partaking in Ramadan Fasting experiences to understand what Muslim colleagues go through. The support and stories have been very touching.
Was a pleasure to be at
@ChairLeicsAMP
10 year anniversary . Good to see
@CCLeicsPolice
who has been such a strong supporter . Great event, they keep going from strength to strength.
A meeting today with
@AssocPCC

I am shocked & saddened by the terrorist attacks in New Zealand. My deepest sympathies and prayers to the families, I am working with colleagues nationally around how we can protect& reassure our communities. I will be on
@unityfm935
tonight between 6-7pm to talk about this.
Today we reflect and remember the 8000 innocent people who were murdered 25 years ago just because of their ethnicity and religion. We have a duty to make sure that genocides never happen again.

Day 5️⃣ - The Significance of Dates 🌴
Dates are special and are mentioned in the Quran.
The common practice of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) was that he would eat a small, odd numbered amount of dates to open and close his fast. (1/3)
#RamadanReminders
Day 1️⃣3️⃣ - Fasting & Better Health 🩺
Today, we are in a much better position to appreciate how fasting does wonders for the health of our body. An average man requirers up to 1500 calories per day for the normal functioning of the body. (1/4)
We are glad to hear that many local Associations Muslim Police staff networks are setting a FAST A Day challenge/experience to encourage non Muslim staff to do a day of fasting to experience the day with out food and water. Whilst supporting charitable giving. Stories to follow.
We spent the first part of the afternoon on day two bringing out everyone’s competitive streak with some team building activities including memory games, quick thinking and archery 🏹 (safe to say there was some healthy competition!) Well done to Team 2 who won the tasks! 🏆🏅
This week we hear from DC Shakil Ahmed who is a Digital Media Investigator over at
@WestYorksPolice
and also an executive member of
@WYP_AMP
🔍👮🏽♀️Click on the link below and hear his inspirational journey and how much he loves being part of the team at WYP!
During Ramadan self reflection and improvement plays a huge part on improving one self. Charity can be seen in many ways such as simple acts of kindness. The Prophet P.B.U.H stated “Every Act of Kindness is Charity” Sahih Al Bukhari”
Honoured to attend the launch of a new Muslim Police Association
@syptweet
. Well done to Gulshan Akram for being instrumental in this and she has had great support from Chief Constable Steven Watson and the PCC - Dr Alan Billings.

Day 1️⃣ Introduction to Ramadan - Self Control
Throughout the world, Muslims are observing the ninth Islamic month, Ramadan 🌙
A special period where, from before dawn til sunset, mature, healthy Muslims refrain from food, drink and sexual relations. (1/3)
A great day yesterday at
@BTPLondon
joining our national colleagues, friends and Association of Muslim Police for belated Eid Al Adha celebrations! 🎉
NAMP Co Vice President, Irfan Ishaq enjoyed great food and inputs from fellow colleagues talking about the importance of Eid 🌙
I have been working closely with colleagues today, these attack’s are despicable and together we will do everything we can to investigate, reassure and protect our community. I will be on
@unityfm935
at 4pm to talk about this and what
@WMPolice
are doing.
As we enter the final week of Ramadan. Taking time to self reflect on blessings we have is important and goes along way. The one of many things partaking in Ramadan reminds us.
Thank you to
@MPA_GMP
for hosting the NAMP Executive meeting at
@gmpolice
yesterday 📆
A productive day for our national colleagues, members and new AMPs who have joined.
The NAMP Executive officially welcomed Khaldoun Kabbani as the newly appointed Co-Vice NAMP President! 🙌🏼

Deeply saddened about this incident. My prayers and solidarity with the congregation and wider community. I note many forces are stepping up reassurance and engagement with mosques , which is very welcome.
#INCIDENT
Police were called to a mosque near Regents Park at 3.10pm to reports of a stabbing. A man, in his 70s, was found injured. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
#RamadanReminders
Day 9️⃣ - Fasting & Thankfulness 🙏🏼
The Prophet (peace be upon him) was offered the riches of the world. Yet, he didn't want money. He deliberately chose hunger because it makes a person more thankful. (1/4)
Was pleased to take part in the all parliamentary discussion & community consultation on islamaphobia. Great turn out. Very constructive debate and excellent guest speakers all showing support against islamaphobia.
NAMP President, Alexander Gent delivered a workshop in the afternoon, focusing on welfare support for staff and officers.
Local Force AMP representative development was also a key element to the training - an informative and engaging session for delegates! 📝
#RamadanReminders
Day 6️⃣ - Dates & Ramadan 🌙
Deliberately, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) instructed to break fast with dates.
At the end of the fast glucose levels reach the lowest. Dates get glucose to the body quickly & harmlessly. (1/3)
Zakat donation- 2.5% of ones wealth is for filling a pillar of Islam and the very foundation of faith. 2.5% may not be much to those who have the means but to those in need it is everything. The hunger and thirst experienced in Ramadan teaches us empathy towards the poor.
#RamadanReminders
Day 4️⃣ - The Reward System 🌟
Good deeds are rewarded with specific units of reward, between 10-700 units of reward. However, fasting falls outside this and in fact, Allah states ‘I will reward this personally’ & ‘Fasting is for Me’. (1/3)
Day 7 Ramadan. One of the many reasons to implement faith rooms and wash facilities within the work place. Being able to work and have time to for fill religious obligations helps encourage and support inclusive culture.
The National Association of Muslim Police-User Group has now been set up on knowledge Hub. Will be used as a platform to share ideas and documents. All welcome to join. Will be populated with Information in the coming weeks.
Chief ConstableJon Boucher speaking at CPD day on well being and diversity. Making a strong case for race. Great event and thought provoking stuff , pleased to be part of it.
