I think what is meant by Filioque still isn't fully understood by either party. When that understanding is finally arrived at, I think we will be able to agree. Nor will a common, orthodox understanding necessitate that any particular Church use the Filioque in the Creed.

Jesus broke the Sabbath laws frequently. The Pharisaical sect was always accosting him for this fact. Read Matthew Ch. 5. After claiming to be the fulfillment of the Law, Jesus immediately abrogates aspects of the old Law that had always been in force.

Rome is orthodox, and the Isles have always been Latin. For example, in Britain there were "Purgatory societies." Imagine if we tried to pull this stunt with any of the Eastern traditions, claiming them to be "spiritually Roman" or something. The orthobros would bust a vessel.

I believe Kolbe was incorrect about this. The Catholic Church has never defined Mary as "the mediatrix of all graces." Certainly the Blessed Mother mediates grace, but so do all the Saints, and (to a lesser extent) all Christians in general.

Catholics don't hate the Eastern Orthodox. For 60 years, we've made tremendous, humble efforts to re-establish union. Maybe Redeemed Zoomer has been dissuaded from Eastern Orthodoxy because of the behavior of the Eastern Orthodox.
