I'm quitting my PhD
Presently writing my masters thesis.
This isn't a bad thing, I'm really happy about it. I got a master's, not just for free but I got paid to do it. I did it in one year.

I feel like an overlooked but extremely fucked up part of this is that it just presupposes that gym class cannot happen without making kids undress together. Like just give them changing rooms. ugh I was so uncomfortable changing for gym as a kid.

As an adult you can choose to go to the gym and use the changing room but kids are just forced to. No consent. In spaces that can be psychologically or even physically unsafe. Forget gender and sexuality. Why are we doing this to kids at all?

I woke from surgery already going into shock. They gave me some injection that brought me back and said it would hold until I got home. If I hadn't had opioid pills to take at home I'm sure I would have gone back into shock that night.

Around 2011 I was at a very chaotic vintage/upcycle/craft/consignment/thrift store somewhere in rural kansas that specialized in these. they sold them for like $80. I wanted one so bad and agonized about it but it seemed expensive.
