If we're going for anecdotes, this isn't my experience from working in them. The students were incredibly privileged and there was even a hierarchy of privilege.
Most working families in this country couldn't afford the mandatory school lunch fees.

We don't have the choice to disassociate ourselves from our partner's income when it comes to student loans, child benefit etc.

I saw a women a few weeks ago, dressed so effortlessly but simply beautiful, I thought her outfit really suited her. She was having a rotten time with a toddler, I saw her in the car park, so I told her how much I loved her outfit, she said it made her day
