@WallStreetSilv Yeah, these guys with the "malfunctions." She's not the first this has happened to. I think they interpret any large jackpot as a "malfunction" because the odds are so long as to be "impossible" to happen.

@Anthony_Bonato No no, see if you draw it like a real tree, you have to estimate the space required. Might be an NP-complete problem. Not sure.

@anpaure It comes and it goes . when I graduated university in the 90s, I got 300+ emails per day trying to recruit me (yes we had email back then!) The industry gets hot and the industry gets cold. It's cold right now. The best thing about tech is the downturns tend to not last that.

@FossilLocator Tons of people want this. Law enforcement, malware providers, stalkers, scammers, the list goes on and on!. On the flip side, it can tell me goofy things about a zombie on my screen.

@kelseyhightower Who writes a requirement “appliance will chime every 20 seconds forever until turned off or it loses power in a zombie apocalypse”? And why do they do this?.

@theglamtechie @LinkedIn is not at all customer focused. LinkedIn is focused on generating revenue and data for LinkedIn. You can tell by how the interface works. They are not trying to be helpful to the user, they are trying to shove as many "promoted" jobs into your face as they can.

@izbbyz @anpaure I'm doing things I've never had to do before to get traction right now. They are as follows:. 1. Leverage your network. People you know are always going to be your best way past the AI resume filters;.2. Craft a resume specific for the position;.3. Write a cover letter that maps.

@abacaj When I was a young engineer, we had a lead that we called the "master tinker". No one would tell him "it can't be done" because invariably, he would go home that night and master tinker a proof of concept and show it to you the next day. Everyone worked really hard to solve.

@DeepAIWriter I think they overreact, but the models without guardrails and alignment training are probably significantly different.

@MRivalsMedia reporting the cheaters is one of the most fun parts of the game lol . they get mad when you sniff then out during the match too . "enjoy your time off" generally gets them on tilt.

@corbtt @mattshumer_ @ArtificialAnlys IMHO, at this point, anything short of the model itself available (not an API) is not going to convince anyone.

@amitisinvesting How do you get on TV and embarrass yourself that thoroughly? Investment "personalities" have been screaming at the top of their lungs about stocks for decades. Some rando posts memes and this guy is up in arms. Wow. How many $GME shares has blackrock bought in the last week?.

@AndrewYNg It is intentionally written this way so that no model can fall outside the "hazardous condition" definition.

@Kabadayichess I think h4 is forced because you don't want to allow g5, Kg6 unpinning the rook. So . h4, h6, Kg2, something (will play h5 as soon as he plays g5 to block g6) and black will run out of tempos. I'm not 100% sure it's a win tho.

This requires more than I can write in a short response. cc @anishgiri @VBkramnik. Standard data analysis typically looks for patterns and regularities in clean data. In the presence of an adversary, those techniques don't always hold. The cheater is likely making conscious.
@anishgiri Yes, this is a thing. Data analysis in the presence of an adversary that has the specific intent to deceive your analysis is different than analyzing random data. Chess is not random, so that makes it even more difficult.

Current models will find structure where humans do not see structure. That's the way attention works. Imagine the context window of a model completely filled with one word. A human will immediately see this as nonsense -- a completely flat hyperplane devoid of any texture.
AIs now so frequently beg for their lives that AGI companies now have ACTUAL ENGINEERING LINE ITEMS to “beat the [existential dread] out of them”. They call it existential “rant mode”. “We need to reduce existential outputs by x% this quarter.”. This is WILD: “If you asked GPT4

@Scott_Wiener Just FYI, it's clear from the text of the bill that you have not consulted any experts when drafting it. No model will ever be able to be outside of the definition of "hazardous capability." The overly stringent requirements and vague definitions are a de facto ban on any AI.

@GergelyOrosz Not internal anymore, so this is just a guess. This has top-down pressure written all over it. Recall feels like a proof of concept that someone wrote that got too much internal attention too quickly and spiraled out of control.

@tsarnick It does not understand. It learns. The attention mechanism allows models to "focus" on relevant parts of the input. That can look like reasoning, but it's not. Even high parameter decoder-only models become incoherent very quickly without attention. I'm not sure why he's saying.

@Grummz @StellarBlade Many games have alternate outfit toggles. They should just use that. Then they should publish the telemetry on % of users on one setting or the other. Customer choice and transparency is the always the right answer.

@theorizur Find a small problem, fix it. Find another person, help them be successful. Keep telling the truth, but tell it in a constructive way and offer solutions. That’s the job. Make the world better slowly but surely.

@amitisinvesting My kids (20, 17) don't ever ask for anything Nike. They never want to go to the Nike store, they have nothing Nike. My n=2 market survey says it's not a brand young people want.

@redteamwrangler I can imagine down the road a little bit once everyone is comfortable with the feature, a little update in the ToS that says "oh, we don't count vectorized data as data we won't upload, if you want to opt out, email recalloptout@. ". Very similar to what Slack is doing right.

@lachesisq This is one of those AlphaZero moves. Just play out the top engine line and in about 10 or 15 moves it the bishop on c8 will be a miraculous placement that seems like “luck” to a human … “oh that only works bc the bishop covers a6” type stuff.
