To this day, the bit of Fallout 76 that I find more consistently off-putting is that the game ultimately concludes that using nukes is fun, and should be encouraged, and there are no negative consequences, and it generates awesome loot spots, and it's just so bloody wrong-headed.

If you ever wonder how smart NFT-guys are, they just spent £40,000,000 buying theoretical real estate in a game that doesn't exist yet, with no gameplay trailer or release date, made by the company that made and then abandoned Godus, based on a promise made by Peter Molyneux.

I can't deny, I rather appreciate characterising Vault Dwellers as naïve and slightly prissy, given that feels very in line with how they were treated in Fallout 1 & 2, plus I do enjoy that she's basically failing a speech check here.
Welcome to the Wasteland in this first official scene from FALLOUT! Everyone is polite and conflicts are de-escalated quickly.

Man, it sure is weird how, when a game sells 6 million copies instead of 7 million copies, the entire dev team gets laid off, but when publishers make stupid decisions that lose huge amounts of money and goodwill they absolutely never get fired for their utter incompetence.
Helldivers fans -- we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward. We’re still.

Stop me if I'm talking crazy here, but maybe there should be more than 3 single-player 3D Fallout games? Like, we could make more? We could throw money at Obsidian? Or inXile? Or Larian? Or former Bioware devs? MAYBE THERE SHOULD BE MORE FALLOUT?.
Fallout has more than doubled its concurrent players on Steam with the release of the Fallout TV series.

That terrifying moment when #DavidAttenborough is trending, and the relief when it's just because it's his birthday. Happy birthday, you magnificent bastard.

Before I did what I do now, I spent years working in tech, with a focus on marketing, customer retention, and monetisation, and I can therefore confirm that the typical process for testing price elasticity is not having the company director publicly haggle with Stephen King.
@StephenKing We need to pay the bills somehow! Twitter cannot rely entirely on advertisers. How about $8?.

OH FFS YOUTUBE. STOP. PEOPLE. JUST. WANT. A. LIST. OF. VIDEOS. FROM. CHANNELS. THEY'VE. SUBSCRIBED. TO. IN. CHRONOLOGICAL. ORDER. IS THIS SO DAMN HARD TO UNDERSTAND @TeamYouTube
@jpm_507 Just to clarify. We are currently experimenting with how to show content in the subs feed. We find that some viewers are able to more easily find the videos they want to watch when we order the subs feed in a personalized order vs always showing most recent video first.

My mother was a migrant. I'm a second generation migrant. My partner is a migrant. My neighbour is a migrant. Some of my oldest, dearest friends are migrants. This is our home. Please think very carefully this week about whether this is a narrative you want to support.
EU migrants have been able to “treat the UK as if it’s part of their own country” for too long, Boris Johnson said yesterday as he reprised the core message of Vote Leave’s 2016 EU referendum campaign.

It is simultaneously hilarious and sad that this is absolutely the result of giving a talented director plenty of freedom, and hiring a great cast, and then doing some genius marketing, but the studio will instead respond with 14 toy-inspired-movies with none of those things.

It's literally an event where the challenge is writing 50,000 words in a month to help people find time to write and try forming their ideas into writing. There is nothing more antithetical to that than asking a machine to do it for you - there's no way to miss the point harder.
@ManyATrueNerd You can still be creative while using AI.

There'll never be anything funnier on this site than the richest man in the world and self-proclaimed free-speech-absolutist buying the biggest town square in human history, and immediately whining it's expensive & trying to negotiate $8 from Stephen King to keep the lights on.

Honestly, I cannot envision any scenario whereby a website collapses more absolutely than the concept of the Escapist managing to drive away Yahtzee. Completely & instantly dead site. Incredible.
Today, I formally resigned from The Escapist and Gamurs. I don't have the rights to Zero Punctuation, but whatever happens you'll be hearing my voice again soon, in a new place. Join this discord for updates in the coming days:

I also enjoy when Obsidian were given the Creation Engine, they immediately solved this narrative/engine-limitation conflict by declaring 'Ok, so in the second Battle of Hoover Dam, it's a running battle split between many areas because the Legion infiltrated the dam from below.'.
Do you ever think about how funny it is that the final battle of the “Skyrim Civil War” was a small skirmish between like 10 dudes

Nothing will ever top my first time, when I emerged from the Vault, staggered gasping into the light, ran down to my shattered home, seeing no sign that any human had survived. And then, upon seeing a melon, my character casually muttering 'HMM, BETTER GET SOMEONE TO PICK THIS'.
It's been 7 years since we first stepped out of Vault 111 and into the Commonwealth. What was your favorite Fallout 4 moment?

To my mind, if Ubisoft are willing to take your money for a single-player game but can just revoke access later, it's perfectly to be expected some may decide they're going to play Ubisoft games without paying for them, given Ubisoft have broken the basic contract of ownership.
Ubisoft decommissioning spree could render more titles unplayable than first thought. Assassin's Creed Liberation HD and Silent Hunter 5 look to be unexpected casualties.

Utterly gross. Team 17 is effectively an umbrella publisher, under which many basically indie games live. Those indie devs got no say in this, and now they're stuck being contractually bound to a publisher suddenly engaging in shitty corporate behaviour. Completely shameful.

Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game, and was my gateway drug to the rest of the franchise. Given what's happened in my life since, and how the YouTube channel started, I wonder how different my life would be if I hadn't bought that second-hand XBox 360 game. Thanks, #Fallout3.
