I dont always agree with Flores but I strongly agree here. To be fair I first heard this take from Skaff Elias, but it's something I wholeheartedly agree with. It greatly expands the space of states - sometimes you play from ahead and sometimes you have to play from behind.

It's OK, I play storm on MTGO while high basically 100% of the time and occasionally I do such egregious things that I wish my username wasnt so identifiable. That and I just discovered I was always timing out cause I need to close MTGO every match or two.

Jesus Christ this hits too close to home. My father has been a Philly fan for 75 years and has never had a moment of actual happiness, except for about 5 minutes in 2018 immediately post Super Bowl.
Waking up on Sixers game day is like knowing the exact time and place that you are going to be hit by a bus at 65 mph, but you’ve still got to go to work and everything like it’s not gonna happen.

It can be complicated. For example Sam Black is a very useful person to have in draft prep because he will try a ton of things and find archetypes most wouldnt. However sometimes he can become too enamored with hose and his play can be sloppy (no offense)

You need the proper way to plan your dinner disengagement so there are no barnacles attached. I recommend not leaving as a group, but surreptitiously meeting near the exit at the appointed time.

I played brainstorm in my worlds 00 Tinker deck. Took out the Strokes of Genius because the deck was so powerful it just needed consistency after going back and forth in playtesting

I dont really remember. People just weren't really good at draft and I loved to draft so I was max prepared at the ages where my brain was at maximum power. Obv I ran very good in that stretch too.

They just had the curves of the points won/lost wrong. In Chess win rates approach 100%, but in magic its more like 80%. Would have been real easy to fix but never any interest.

ELO for magic would be great if they built the curves off magic data rather than just copying from chess. At my peak I was never more than 80% vs a grinder but Magnus Carlsen approaches 100%. As constructed it's pretty terrible and moves way too much
