Ignorantia antisemitismus non excusat.
Joined October 2011
The Jewish community has allies. Never forget this.
I’m not Jewish, but there’s a reason that I’ve risked everything to speak up for the Jewish community. And when I say everything, I mean everything. I mean being blocked by friends that I grew up with, unfollowed by most friends and associates, accused of being a spy for the Mossad, IRGC, CIA etc, having my family accused of the same and having their lives put at risk to the extent of having to contact the FBI, being subjected to unthinkable smears, conspiracies, and rumors that are intended to blacklist me from everywhere and by everyone, but I still speak up despite it all, you know why? Because the same time that Jews had to watch their children being shot and kidnapped on October 7 Is the same time they had to watch half the world protest against the existence of their tiny Jewish state that is their only refuge from global genocide Is the same time they had to watch their friends, associates, celebrities, and the world’s body politic post paragliders in celebration of their massacre Is the same time they had to watch their synagogues go up in flames amid renewed pogroms in Europe Is the same time they had to be banned and blacklisted as persona non gratas of the world by trading the word “Jews” for “Zionists” Is the same time they had to be pushed back by human chains on college campuses and beaten unconscious for defying chants for their death Is the same time they had to watch a mentally ill rapper tell millions of his followers that he loves Hitler and supports the Holocaust Is the same time they had to watch the likes of Dan Bilzerian, Candace Owens, Jake Shields, and the rest of the “woke right” claim “Jewish supremacy” is the world’s biggest problem by citing obscure texts of the Talmud & claiming to “seek truth” while regurgitating antisemitic Soviet disinformation to justify their persecution Is the same time they had to watch the woke left claim that the victims of Islamist extremism deserved the October 7 horrors because their grandparents who fled Nazi Germany back to Palestine in refugee boats were actually “white colonizers” All while the world looks on and glibly asks, “what antisemitism?” That’s why I speak up. The most important thing I’ve realized is that nobody can take from you what doesn’t belong to them. They can silence, intimidate, threaten, and accuse you, but they can never take away the power of your voice when it bellows into the scorched earth the last hopeful, fragmented glimmers of truth. That belongs to you and nobody else, and in our lifetime, it may never be more important than now.

@M_Lipshutz I’m sure that’s true. But do me a favor, compare how many times she tweeted something critical about AIPAC vs literally any other lobby. Here are the top nations lobbying the U.S. govt. Start here and let me know what you find.

@M_Lipshutz There really aren’t. Focusing on who you consider bad actors from just one community to the exclusion of all others engaging in similar behavior is always bad.

@M_Lipshutz State owned media is not a credible source for anything other than the party line, Marion. Let’s be a little more savvy than citing sources that lack journalistic freedom and simply parrot whatever the govt wants.

@M_Lipshutz That’s fine. But when you focus on AIPAC and make them the face of whatever you don’t like about money in politics, when there are a million other and bigger lobbies, that’s not a good look.

Don't be gullible.
Below we can see clearly what they don't report. (RTÉ and others buy Gaza footage from Al Jazeera, need we say more?) Another pat on the back for the your widely-praised (in Ireland, anyway) 'journalism', @rtenews 2/2

@JoshWashIBSI Sorry for your loss. May her memory be ever a blessing to all those whose lives she touched. Wishing you and your family comfort.

@aziz0nomics @Resist_05 @CommunityNotes And he was born in Tel Aviv, not Poland. Also, Jews in the diaspora often adopted or adapted names under duress. It was common for Jews repatriating to Israel to re-Hebraicize as an act of liberation. To use this painful history to deny Jewish connection to the land is sick.

Read Izabella’s thread to learn of a remarkable but little known episode in history and the remarkable people behind it.
On Dec 22 the Jewish world lost one of the most inspiring figures in the Soviet Zionist movement, Eduard Kuznetsov. He will be forever remembered as a coorganizer of the unimaginably daring plan to hijack, in June 1970, a small, empty airplane in Leningrad & fly it to freedom. The plot was called “Operation Wedding.” It’s a breathtaking story just waiting to be turned into the next Netflix blockbuster series. For their participation in the plot, Eduard — then a 30 year old who had already served 7 years in the gulag for ‘anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda’ (editing a dissident publication) — and another co-conspirator, the 43 year old Mark Dymshits, a former military pilot, were sentenced to death by firing squad. Seven defendants, ages 21 to 30, were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in labor camps, with two receiving shorter sentences. With two exceptions, all the defendants were Jews. Eduard passed away on the 54th anniversary of the start of their sham trial—almost to the day. I was fortunate to have had the chance to interview him & other participants in Operation Wedding & wrote about it for @Tablet on the 50th anniversary of the trial, exactly 4 years ago. Here’s a 🧵with some excerpts from the piece:

@GungomusPrime @QueenMab87 The average civilian to combatant fatality ratio in urban warfare is 9:1. If we accept the figures in your QT, in Gaza it’s less than 3:1.

@scrunkoelbunko @jKnoxPA @QueenMab87 Both sides have released figures on the number of combatants killed. Secondly, the link you shared refers to warfare generally, not warfare in densely populated urban areas specifically. Here, multiple testimonies by experts on the ratio:

@scrunkoelbunko @jKnoxPA @QueenMab87 If you cannot distinguish between military operations targeting combatants which produce collateral casualties and 10/7 which intentionally targeted a music festival and civilian areas with absolutely no legitimate military objectives, I’m afraid this won’t be a productive convo.

@scrunkoelbunko @jKnoxPA @QueenMab87 The civilian to combatant fatality ratio in Gaza is 2:1 or 3:1. That’s bad. But not as bad as the *average 9:1 ratio* in urban warfare. So Israel is both maximizing civilian deaths AND minimizing civilian deaths below the global average? Make it make sense.

@QueenMab87 The gravest concern relevant here is civilian deaths. The civilian to combatant fatality ratio in Gaza is much lower than the *average* in urban warfare. Given that the leaders of those nations have not received warrants, some might reasonably see that as a double standard.
