Wrote some quick thoughts on how I’m feeling about @MagicEsports during #MythicChampionshipIV

It’s really depressing that the pandemic was insufficient to trigger at least temporary UBI. So much attention to the spread is blamed on people not wearing masks or whatever, but the real issue is economic pressures that force people not to be safe.
95% of positive tests in a San Francisco neighborhood were among Latinx individuals, even though they comprised 41% of the community. -91% of positives can't work from home.-88% have household income <$50K/yr.-86% have >3 person/home.-55% asymptomatic when tested

I and the rest of the Magic community owe a lot to @kanister_mtg. His success inspired me to abandon secrecy and embrace working publicly, something I always wanted, but was afraid to do. This movement away from secrecy toward community is great for mtg. Love to see him win.

The best reason Sol Ring is legal is that the banned list is built for casual play. Casual decks aren’t actually going to be balanced, and having such a huge power outlier in every deck means that players with weaker decks get to experience being the threat when they draw it.
Why is everyone happily okay with Sol Ring in their commander decks?. Is it because it’s so easily accessible and cost a dollar? Is it because it’s just “always been this way?” Does it represent a core identity of the format?. Explain. It’s way too powerful and should be banned.

Not granting wild card for The Book of Exalted Deeds because you can play it in other formats you had no intention of playing it in when you made it for your 2022 deck is not a decision I support. @MTG_Arena.

Alayna was probably the person most negatively impacted.
I am truly gutted that Jeweled Lotus was banned by the @mtgcommander. I have met literally thousands of players who LOVE this card and who truly treasure it in their EDH deck. It's unfair to do it after 4 years & now it's unplayable anywhere. #unbanlotus

I miss GPs. If Nathan can’t stay on the PT, no one should expect that they can plan to be on the PT for years. Maybe that’s not a bad thing, but this is what I’m getting at when people ask if I’ll be back on the PT—it’s not something you can really choose anymore.
Not my best pro tour performance today! Started 2-0, and then the wheels fell off and I ended up dropping at 2-5. Definitely a painful tournament experience, but super happy with how I navigated the games, and can’t expect much more! Officially off the PT unless I win a ptq :(.

Bought some grab bags from @MissouriMTG. TIL apparently the bags are sometimes combined into a super bag

It takes a lot to root against @ReidDuke. Representation is a great start, but @AutumnLilyMTG’s attitude is just delightful. Doesn’t expect anything or take anything for granted, legitimately overwhelmed and delighted by their own success.

This is the weirdest part of this announcement to me. They expected the format with no high level support to be popular among more competitive players? Do they understand us at all?
And if you're asking yourself "How does 'card suspension' work?", we have answers! . Check out our companion article, the aptly named Historic Suspension Announcement:

If I’m going to answer this I need to do it in its own thread to minimize repeating it. Mana rocks are a scam in commander 🧵.
@SamuelHBlack @seedy_k Alrighty, I think we're gonna need some elaboration on this. Not saying you're wrong, but I only ever hear idiots say this, not people who are actually good at magic. My interest is piqued.

Quite the plot twist to solve “we need to find a way to make it possible long term for new players to get into Historic” with “we’ll charge 2x for cards that can only be used <half as much.” @MagicEsports.

So this list suggests that The One Ring is played in Boros energy and 22% of other decks? (This could be wrong if not all Boros Energy decks play it) anyway, this list makes it look a lot more like Boros Energy is a problem than that The One Ring is a problem.
The One Ring up to 60% of Modern decks. If it doesn't get banned this month I don't know what to say.

I think I’ve considered writing something for #TDOV for the last few years, but it hasn’t felt entirely appropriate. Still might not be, but I hope it’s close enough.
