I am dead serious in that there needs to be some type of study into how many people were spurred to visit - or even move to - Chicago because of ‘The Bear’. This is why the city/state are wise to boost their film/tv production.

Thought this was a nice reminder. Chicago has been remarkable in its ability to weather the so-called “rust belt decline”. Nothing is guaranteed, but by all means why would we stop now? Must be some magical sauce in the deep dish.

@CartoonsHateHer “If I believed in fear…” The man seems plenty afraid of the big, bad cities based on his Chicago post from the summer.

Public transit, walkability, biking, etc. Chicago has the bones and infrastructure already for all of this and is eons above the majority of US cities.

This is also why some cities, which may become a climate refuge years down the line, need to have in their best interest to limit things that may lead to more drastic increase of severe weather/natural disasters. If I'm the midwest I'm investing more in walkability for example.

@TraceyRyniec I love seeing the city shown off on TV screens in this gym in Ohio. “Look at the pretty city! Look at it!”

@ReelBrew @Kevin_U_87 Plot twist would be if Frank or the McCalisters were somehow involved in the defense missile chip scheme from Home Alone III…

Chicago is always in “defensive mode” because the city has to fend off many outrageous attacks and claims, including those who for whatever reason view the city as any other Midwestern town. It’s time, however, to also go on the “offensive” and build up our city much more.

It’s funny how pages like Eater Chicago can post a list of brand new Chicago restaurant openings and you still have trolls in the comments going, “Businesses and people continue to flee. Voters have ruined this city!”
