I mean, I can hold two thoughts on my head:
1. The FBI has abused its power and reputation at the expense of real human lives.
2. That wasn't the case here and in fact, *based on the evidence we have,* they executed this search with care and professionalism.
One thing mainstream press doesn't appreciate is the consequences of grading on a curve. It's one thing to do he said/she said. That's just lazy. But it takes effort to develop a nonsense narrative and then stick with it in defiance of the facts.
This is the dumbest controversy. It's a little precious for the same crowd that routinely subordinates the mental health impact of COVID measures to turn around and say a company encouraging vaccination with free food is hurting people's health.
There's an ethical problem in robbing anybody of their freedom absent lawbreaking, but just consider for how much less Britney had conservatorship forced upon her.
This was a great night for Glenn Close because after 37 years she’s finally off the hook for being the stock reference for an emotionally disregulated woman who might be about to kill you.

Trump is obviously lying about his relationship to Project 2025, but his and his campaign's denial of a connection betrays a real fear based on some information they are seeing.
can report that people on the doors are starting to talk about project 2025 which means it’s probably breaking internet containment in a pretty substantial way

You're also forgetting that if McAuliffe wins a comfortable 2-5 pts, not at wide as Northam, they'll write it off & say, oh it's a blue state nobody cares.
In life, Harry Reid ordered the casinos to set up voting stations and give workers time off to vote.
In death, Harry Reid ordered God to drop a bunch of snow on rural Nevada.
The gas tax thing is silly, but sillier still is how bent out of shape people get over gas prices. At $3.40-something, they're lower today *unadjusted for inflation* than in summer 2008 when it scraped $4. Other inflation I get, but gas price obsession is just societal insanity.
This is legitimately insane. The only thing I can think of is the DPU discovered something catastrophically wrong with how the MBTA is measuring safety because there is no way the entire system with four unique lines and rolling stock all merited this.
MA received 17% of requested medical supplies from the Trump admin. ME: 5%. CO: 1 day's worth.
FL got everything they requested. + an identical shipment the next week. oh, and a 3rd is on the way.
Last year
@PaulJSweeney
described in rather blunt detail last year how dark his life became after the pandemic upended his life, forcing him into welfare. He channeled that into helping people with addiction & is now back in elected government. A good result for all.
It's quite bizarre actually. DeSantis dumps migrants on MV. The right then insists it's Vineyarders who are hypocrites because residents facilitate a real solution rather than house migrants in summer homes residents do not own or control.
What's striking about the DeSantis farce is that the "own the libs" component is unfolding entirely in a land of make-believe.
It isn't actually owning the libs. But right wing media just keep on saying it does. That's good enough for them, apparently.
Dems are discussing the idea of shared control over the Rules Committee, erasing the right's leverage and giving Dems real input.
“A real power-sharing agreement means shared control over what does and doesn’t come to the floor,”
@RepJayapal
says.
HO-LY Shit.
This may come to nothing, but either recognition or not vetoing at the UNSC would probably cause a massive political crisis in Jerusalem. It would effectively nuke Netanyahu's only life preserver: promising to never let a Palestinian state exist.
Breaking: Biden has asked the NLRB's general counsel Peter Robb to resign.
Robb -- who is is known for his aggressive anti-union, pro-business positions -- is the first NLRB general counsel to be forced out in more than 50 years.

My policy is to ignore any pundit calling for Biden to step aside but refused to acknowledge Harris, let alone she as the only alternative. Suggesting a brokered, open convention is just a knock-off of Sorkinism.
@ArmandDoma
The reporting on this is actually quite bad. There are many avenues through which Israel gets weapons, but most are purchases. This was a years-old purchase *Congress* approved. What discretion does Biden even have without invoking the Leahy Act, which it's not prepared to do.
Here's the part of the discussion over John Fetterman's health that makes no sense to me. Why would anyone vote for someone they can't stand because the candidate they prefer isn't 100% well? If the candidate I liked dropped dead, I'd vote for them anyway. (1/x)
Somebody is asking at the

They do. There's been a lot of investment in NJ to achieve this. Just upgrading the WAS-NYP electrical could boost speeds considerably.

@RepMaxwellFrost
is very good at this.
Putting aside that average people are not watching these hearings (probably for the best) and con media will keep his comments from their audience, Frost has a knack for brevity & succinctness.
A very good week for Rep Maxwell Frost:
Got border police to debunk open borders lie
Had big moment mocking GOP Twitter lunacy
Went viral blasting DeSantis drag crackdown
I talked to Frost about his approach and why Dems must wage information warfare:
I gotta say one more thing and then I will (try to) stop tweeting. 27k votes cast (both parties) in

for a primary is AMAZING! That's practically a tie for 1990 and through the roof compared to 2006.

All true, but what JD Vance really means by "pro family" policies is using state power to facilitate the formation of "traditional" families and to discourage other iterations. This is a New Right idea.
@melissagira
and I went deep into this on our pod:
Anybody equating frankly any period of the pandemic to WWII deprivations needs to read a goddamned history book and then stop making such facile comparisons. They're not the same. Stop it.
It’s genuinely shocking that the head of state of the most powerful nation on earth was not kept safe from contracting a known spreading fatal virus. The irresponsibility of it. Infuriating. Flabbergasting.

I visited a month off two before I saw the show and it made my memories of the trip even better. Part of it is Chicago is an actual character in the Bear, like NYC is in many movies, and not just a setting.

I just read in Obama's book that
@JoeBiden
concurred with Rahm then. His big ask now would seem to confirm Biden's thinking has evolved quite a bit over time.
The reason why people like Charlie Baker is they never got the truth that, however detail-oriented he is (and I think he is), his decision-making and execution was mediocre. In short, we got a facade, but no good working product underneath.

This feels more like a failure that presumed Kyiv was as weak as it had been under Yanukovich. In the alternative, it seems plausible Russia intelligence is more degraded than any of us realized.

to victory! A huge win for the nation and national Democrats.
We miss him in Illinois, but our sacrifice cemented a Georgia win and the Democratic majority in the Senate!
Can we stop pretending "Trump can win" is a brave or daring position? Plenty of Dems in positions of real influence understand this perfectly well. The relentless search for some way, any way at all, to say "Dems/libs are in denial" is an absurd journalistic convention. Enough.
