We are living in a dangerous and unprecedented moment in American history. I’m getting a lot of calls from people who are not only upset about what’s happening, but are wondering how we best go forward. Here are my thoughts:

0 donations from pharma CEOs. 0 donations from Wall St. CEOs. 0 donations from oil company CEOs. 8 million from working people giving $27 at a time. I am very proud of that fact.

When Trump fires the most pro-union General Counsel in the National Labor Relations Board's history & illegally removes a member of the NLRB, he isn't a champion of the working class. He is a champion of corporate greed and union busting.

The US faces a massive housing crisis. 800,000 Americans are homeless; millions are paying 50-60% of their limited incomes on housing. And now, unscrupulous speculators & landlords in LA are taking advantage of a natural disaster by illegally raising rents by 300%. Outrageous.

Let's not forget that Trump -- who believes that climate change is "a hoax" -- went to his Big Oil friends looking for campaign contributions. Outrageous. We are fighting for the future of this planet. We must have the courage to take on the greed of the fossil fuel industry.

The struggle of our time is between a ruling class that defends greed, oligarchy & authoritarianism against a progressive movement that believes in a vibrant democracy and economic, racial & environmental justice. It’s a struggle that, for our nation’s future, we must not lose.

Today, I answered questions from people around the country about the Trump administration. Someone asked about how we should combat his lies. Here’s what I had to say:

Better health coverage?. If Canadians became U.S. citizens they would lose their free health care, pay nearly three times more for their prescription drugs, and many of them wouldn’t be able to get coverage at all. Something tells me they won’t be interested.

CBS may be reaching a legal settlement with Trump because he didn't like how a campaign interview with Kamala was edited. Really? If CBS caves, the belief that we have an independent media protected by the First Amendment is undermined. CBS: stand tall. Support the Constitution.

In the coming months, our job is not just to respond to every absurd statement that Trump makes. That is what the Trump world wants us to do. He wants to define the parameters of debate and have us live within his world. We should not fall into that trap.

The 7 leading Republican billionaires contributed over $1 billion to Republican candidates in the 2024 cycle. The 7 leading Democrats contributed $245 million. When billionaires buy elections, we are living in an oligarchy, not a democracy. We must overturn Citizens’ United.

I expect that anybody who watched the President deliver his inaugural address surrounded by the three wealthiest people in the country reached the same conclusion:. We are moving rapidly to an oligarchic form of society. And we have got to fight back.

This is a pivotal moment in American history. We don't have time to moan and groan. We don't have time for despair. If Donald Trump and his oligarchs want to sell out the American working class, they'll have a fight on their hands.

Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for his lifelong struggle against bigotry and injustice, and celebrate his commitment to democracy, workers’ rights and world peace. It is enormously important for the future of our country that we never forget Dr. King’s vision.

Donald Trump campaigned in 2024 as an anti-establishment populist prepared to take on the political class and act on behalf of working families. When Trump is prepared to move forward in that direction, I will gladly support him. When he does not, I will vigorously oppose him.
