“The 14 alderpeople, in partnership with transit advocacy group @bikegridnow , want the proposals scrapped in favor of a new one centered around bus-rapid transit, including bus-only lanes or a light rail system along the lakefront.”

We love the **2,451** homes, but this project has WAY too much parking for a site located at the intersection of two of Chicago's busiest @cta bus lines and within short walking distance to the Blue and Brown lines. @AldermanBurnett

One of our volunteers was injured by a hit-and-run driver while biking in an unprotected bike lane in Chicago. Paint is not protection.

I am slowly recovering from the worst hit-and-run of my life, and I feel genuinely lucky to be alive. I was biking home from a show Friday night in the *unprotected* bike lane on Halsted, and this is some of the aftermath. 🧵 #chibike #bikechi

Apple employees don’t use Android phones. So why do we accept having transit agency leaders that never take transit?

Thank you, Mayor! Allowing ADUs and three-flats citywide would be two great steps to take to streamline housing construction in Chicago 🏘️

I signed an executive order streamlining commercial & housing development in Chicago, and broke ground on a 100% affordable housing complex in North Lawndale. Our city needs more housing, more small businesses, and more economic activity. This is a major step in that direction.

Thank you to EVERYONE who turned out for tonight's community meeting, both in person and online, to demonstrate to @AldermanHopkins that there is strong support for desperately needed affordable housing in Old Town and throughout Chicago. 🌇🏗️

Someone asks, "Why can't they build somewhere else?" and Alderman Lawson responds with "The developer doesn't own somewhere else." 👏

“Minneapolis, Seattle and Buffalo all removed parking requirements. The result was a remarkable surge in housing supply, with over half of the new development being projects that would have been illegal before the change.”

We’re excited to see @CDRosa propose a proactive rezoning of a car-centric parcel on Milwaukee Ave to allow for more homes to be built. 🥳🏘️ The rezoned parcel will remain subject to the ARO, ensuring affordable homes are included, too.

We are proud to join the incredible coalition opposing the current plans for rebuilding North DuSable Lake Shore Drive (NDLSD). “The current proposal, unfortunately, largely maintains the status quo, missing a crucial chance to create a more sustainable and accessible future.”

A coalition of orgs issued a strong statement today opposing the current plans for rebuilding NDLSD as proposed by IDOT & its project team. Instead of maintaining the status quo, this is a crucial chance to create a more sustainable and accessible future.
