Can’t tell the exact species but most puffer fish are toxic. However, they are not venomous so he’s okay in terms of envenimation but they do have quite an extreme bite force so the potential loss of the finger is very much an issue for him.

I do the same thing. I got a couple on back door that come out every-night with these sick webs and if I open the door they catch any flies for me. Couple inside in them corners, they take care of them pesky insects for me. They mind their business so I’m cool with em.
