@antidoc32
personally I'd rather have to work an extra 3-5 years and keep my skin looking good plus hair intact, but I guess thats a minority opinion judging by the guys I see in the gym.
@sarahschauer
It's not like the ER is making you wait just to be assholes. They're making you wait because they also treat heart attacks, gun shot wounds, heart failure exacerbations, etc. ie all things that are more urgent than a kidney infection.
@BowTiedYukon
idk, I'd rather potheads over the drunk people pissing in my flower planters at 3am after stumbling home drunk from Fells Point. I mean, at least they didn't drive. But still.
@paularambles
Some of the most healthy, successful relationships I've seen are people who married someone they were friends with for years. That being said, everyone gets to make their own choices. If you don't want to date friends, you're free to make that choice!
@SWENGDAD
My best friend put it well right before her divorce: "I feel like his mother, cleaning up after him, asking him repeatedly to do chores. Why would I want to have sex with a person like that?"
@mornings0da
Sometimes you gotta play that dangerous game where you push it in just deep enough that it's like "yep this is exactly what I shouldn't be doing according to the box". I don't know what's going on but it feels amazing.
@hollowearthterf
Women in the US are more likely to be murdered during pregnancy or soon after childbirth than to die from the three leading obstetric causes of maternal mortality (hypertensive disorders, haemorrhage, or sepsis)
@colinflanaganOH
That's awesome, and I don't want to knock what they're doing. But Jesus Christ what a broken system - local gov't has to buy medical debt so that patients aren't hounded by providers. Unreal.
@BowTiedYukon
because humans like escapism and the same way I'm not going to police someone's BO in public, I don't care if they're high as long as they're not bother me. The good news is the people smoking weed tend to be way less dangerous/bothersome than the people drinking alcohol.
@brosaleigh
When you're in your twenties, it's easy to fall back on the implicit attractiveness of youth. In your thirties, you generally have more money (for clothes, etc), more confidence, and more style. Not me, to be clear, I still wear adidas slides and jorts.
@amyvanwinkle
As a cyclist who also owns a car, cyclists can be insufferable. That being said, I do think the proportion of cyclists who are straight up wreckless is pretty small and 9 times out of 10 the guy in the car is the problem.
@tunguz
1. If you want to work at a startup: go broad with your skill set (tooling, knowing the stack, etc)
2. If you want to work at an established company: focus on a particular part of the pipeline (data analysis, model dev, model deployment, infra, etc)
3. Soft skills are critical
@Green27484917
Idk bro, your perspective seems pretty toxic outside of the cake. Probably should work on yourself before you bring other people into your shit.
@jeremyphoward
Idk man, I'm not going to knock someone for trying to get their business off the ground. Besides, if you were really bothered by it you could 1) politely tell him you're not interested after the first email or 2) block him. Putting him on blast seems like a lot more effort.
@kittypurrzog
This is an entry level assassin position. You need to be looking at director of assassination roles to get a sense of wages with 7+ yrs experience
@dearkatherine
@botticellibimbo
I don't think we should be using coal. But in the mean time, I'd hope that coal miners have workplace protection. I'm not going to sit here and say "fuck workplace protection for coal miners because we shouldn't be mining coal". That's cutting off your nose to spite your face.
@Potatopolitics
@TheHonorableAT
I watched the JFK documentary and every time I thought "god they really took some artistic liberty to make this interesting" I'd wikipedia the scene - nope. The CIA totally murdered a president.
@BioLayne
Sorry just to be clear: you think Andrew is qualified to give advice on healthy relationships in spite of the fact that he was cheating on multiple women and convinced one to get on IVF treatment to have his child. Am I interpreting your response correctly?
@313Palmer
@wil_da_beast630
So just to make sure I'm understanding: you're saying the prosecutor, the judge, and the jury are all in on a conspiracy to convict Trump?
@Boris72947177
@thechosenberg
It's kind of fantastic. If you're a socially well adjusted guy who can hold a normal conversation with a woman for like 2 minutes, you're already way ahead of the pack.
@theficouple
Democrats fund government with income tax and Republicans fund it with sales tax and property tax? Not sure what the take away is supposed to be here
@DaveEDanna
It was the beginning of Covid. I lost the woman I thought I was going to marry. Everything was locked down in Boston. I picked up some adjustable dumbbells. Turns out heartbreak and boredom are a potent cocktail for self improvement.
@skooookum
I was walking my pitbull after the gym in Baltimore last week and a hooker went "damn y'all both got muscles" and honestly that made my day.
@AlexNoonan6
Probably depends on how you define DS. If they're in the corner building fancy models with zero business impact... ya... that's not going to look good. Delivering analytics, simple forecasts, dashboards? There are a lot of businesses that are hungry for full stack data folks.
@Aella_Girl
also addicts are notoriously bad at self reflection/risk trade offs. So I could easily imagine a bunch of alcoholics saying "yeah this is not problematic for me at all" with no insight into the potential for creating bad outcomes.
@hollowearthterf
Is this even controversial? Non-college educated women are more likely to be financially trapped so of course they don't divorce. Given, you know, human history, it's also more likely the woman isn't having her needs met in a relationship. Optionality + unhappiness = divorce
@ankurnagpal
Id probably modify this a bit to say that working at big co vs startups selects for very different skill sets. One is not objectively better than the other, but one may be better for your particular business.
@dearkatherine
@botticellibimbo
I think you're missing a practical reality: there are women who have made a rational choice to engage in SW to pay the bills. So until SW no longer exists, giving occupational protection to sws is a huge incremental improvement in the lives of women as a whole.
@VickyVigia
@BradSchoenfeld
Loading the muscle in the fully lengthened position. Ex: quads at the bottom of an ass to grass squat, biceps at the bottom of an incline curl, hamstrings at the bottom of a stiff leg deadlift
@AdamSinger
Sure, equity works greats in high margin businesses where you're going to burn yourself out because you also may become very wealthy. I don't think that's going to work for a cashier at Panera making near minimum wage.
@chrissyfarr
Tech folks love majoring in the minors. They'd much rather take athletic greens and track their glucose with a CGM instead of cutting out alcohol, eating more leafy greens and increasing the amount of time they do low intensity cardio. That's the thing about health: it's boring.
Today was the day that everyone figured out being a PhD in a very narrowly defined wet lab-based field does not make you a general science and medicine expert. Huberman bros in shambles.
