Flo, who died last year, used to live at a neighbouring farm. She disliked being a farm cat so decided to move in with us instead. We had her for 13 years and she didn’t venture back to the farm once during that time.

I've been thinking the same. On my walk just now I stood by a large buddleia bush. I waited a while but I didn't see anything land on the flowers. Not a thing. And it's the same in our garden. Our lavender and cat mint is usually humming with bees by now, but not this year.

Have just heard that 3 hares have been found dead in a field behind the church in our village and there are tyre tracks everywhere. Also, 3 separate lurchers have been handed into the dog warden over the weekend too. I'm sickened by these people

There's so much to choose from but I particularly enjoy the music docs on Friday evenings and the 9pm slot on Saturdays. To me BBC4 is about all about quality. The Bridge, The Killing, Sprial, Beck and most recently, Twin - all brilliant and highly addictive.

. We cannot carry on with business as usual. Industrial farming is a major cause of greenhouse gas emissions and our collective ill health is a burden on the NHS. People have got too used to eating cheap meat & don't question where it's come from.

Feeling bad tempered. Just been to the theatre and was surrounded by people eating, from beginning to end. Why do people have to stuff their faces as soon as the curtain goes up? Just suck on a polo or a travel sweet ffs, not 6 family bags of Revels.

I'd expect a more grown up debate in a playground. Wise up presenters and stop shooting the messenger. The facts were presented clearly but you disregarded them entirely. No response whatsoever. We haven't got time for this constant "but what about you" line of questioning.

Both my parents were sent away at 5. My father’s parents lived abroad and there was one year when he didn’t see them for nearly the whole year. He was about 8 I think. Beyond comprehension.

An excellent letter. My husband has pulmonary sarcoidosis so I'm acutely aware of air quality and every day I have to ask people to turn their idling engines off. This morning is was a man sitting in his van, spewing out black fumes. I've so had it with these people.

We used to live near the ornithologist, Chris Mead. He advised putting the bird in a shoe bag or a secure box and leaving them somewhere dark and warmish for a few hours. I've always done this and it usually works really well.

We've done Ashford - Marseilles a couple of times and it was fabulous - and so much easier than flying. No stress, no queues, no delays and super comfy double decker trains. And you can send the kids to buffet car to keep you in snacks.

I live in the countryside but I’m never asked I want to see pheasants being shot,to hear them being shot & to have them running scared all over the lanes. People who shoot inflict their ‘sport’ on us, we have no say in the matter. The balance is already tipped in your favour.
