50 years ago today, Denmark joined the European Community, now the European Union. 🇩🇰🇪🇺
Since 1973, the EU has brought Denmark prosperity, security and opportunities. In the EU, DK leads the way in protecting the common European values and as a green and digital frontrunner.
This weekend, it was possible to see the magical northern lights over Denmark🎨✨
It is a relatively rare phenomenon in 🇩🇰, but from time to time, when both the weather allows it and the solar wind is sufficiently active, we can see the beautiful colours light up the night sky☀️

On this day in 1940, Denmark was occupied by Germany. During this time, Hitler ordered to deport all Danish Jews into Nazi concentration camps. In 1943 🇩🇰&🇸🇪 joined forces to launch a risky rescue mission, saving over 7,000 lives. Let's honor this spirit of solidarity & humanity.

Børsen - the iconic Old Stock Exchange - is on fire💔
Completed in 1625 by King Christian IV Børsen is one of 🇩🇰's most iconic Renaissance buildings. It caught fire this morning & firefighters are still working to control it. Still unknown how much of the building still stands.
