But never ever return a cetacean to the ocean after been stranded. If stranded is for a reason, sometimes weakness, if returned will get stranded again or die drowned. Always call for help while keep the skin wet and protected from the sun!

Got a call from the port to ask for help catching and releasing a “barn owl” trapped inside a building that couldn’t find its way out. The “barn owl” went free with a ring 😉 (ringed under licence!!!!)

The retrap from last night was ringed in March 2014, in the exact same location! Impressive site fidelity! This bird was ringed before I knew English or I was a ringer, before my MSc or PhD! In 2014 I was in Spain! Who would have told me back then!! So amazed ❤️

Check out this leucistic king penguin I saw in Salisbury Plain South Georgia last December. Not an albino, there is still some pigment. Its back was nearly the exact same colour as uncooked chicken. What do you think? Cute or creepy? 🐧
