Counter terror programme Prevent has come in for a lot of criticism since the Southport atrocity, & rightly so. The killer after-all was referred 3 times to Prevent. But Prevent is perennially hampered. -For one thing Ā it faces numerous organisations trying to close it down for.
The Government took a dangerous, authoritarian turn in the aftermath of the Southport murders and is now doubling down. According to this report, raising concerns about two-tier policing or grooming gangs will see you referred to Prevent as an extrmist.
