@sp6runderrated I think it's funny that everyone is talking about NYC but they're actually thinking about Manhattan. Most of NYC is low rise suburbs and converting it to 6 stories would triple the population without tearing down any large apartments.

@nope_its_lily We have a clinic that is either $80/month or $200/visit. We also can find out the cash price for labs or imaging. Fun fact, the cash price for imaging is generally lower than your copay. Generic medications are nearly free.

@PeterZeihan I sincerely doubt that the Russians will be able to support that many men in the field. They'll need food, water, medical supplies, ammunition, etc, all of which will have to be delivered past 70 km of artillery overmatch.

@blackurbanist Imagine if we had a $25k impact fee on new cars and they had to get 75 MPG, be approved by the city Car Safety department, and use a recycled VIN because someone decided that we had enough cars already. That would be expensive, too.

@constantraise There's a doctor job posted in rural KS at $200k W2, 6-8 patients per day. That's a DREAM JOB for a lot of people. The alternative is 50% more money for 50% more work, and that sucks.

@Noahpinion Their electricity is $0.18/kWh while gas is $8/gal. A Chevy Camaro V6 pays like $125k in taxes while an EV is exempt from many (VAT and weight tax) and so is much cheaper to purchase and then to operate. We aren't going to do that stuff here.

@CasualArtyFan I read somewhere that the dud rate for Russian HE is higher than the dud rate for American DPICM. I know that was the case if you look at historic ammunition from 100 years ago, and I suspect that Russian HE was stored in damp conditions and not reconditioned before use.

@realEstateTrent I would start with an energy performance contractor first. Some improvements, like lighting, are extremely cheap relative to the savings. When we had an office I relamped and it paid for itself in 7 mos, and here it is 6 years later without a single bulb replacement.
