In retrospect the (fake) bill from 1999 to levy a 5 cent tax on sent emails was a brilliant idea we should have implemented.

That’s a good point. Reminded me of this NY Times Magazine story I read years ago but has stuck with me (the lecturer may rub you the wrong way but she’s on to something).

Come on Will, this isn’t rocket science. Biden doesn’t have to do anything— except order our UN Ambassador to take a smoke break whenever UN Security Council votes on Israel. But for our dozen of UNSC vetoes, Israel would be under Apartheid South Africa-style sanctions by now.

It’s crazy that a 3% wealth tax on billionaires is politically unthinkable yet there’s already a 100% estate tax on the poor and nobody cares.
