@GrandpaRoy2 @nicholadrummond This is 100% in training but very cool to see the intent of using en masse

Watch this space. Be fascinating to see how they are employed. Few qualms about their mobility rather their protection and how many crew and support vehicles are required to keep a Bty going/protected @nicholadrummond @thinkdefence
My latest piece → Germany will be able to hand over the first RCH 155 to Ukraine as early as next week. This was announced by a spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defence. However, the handover could have a catch.

@war_student I definitely like the idea of an engineer being CDS over a pilot/SF type/warfare officer.

@warmatters @BO3673 European capitals that were hedging on a Kamala win still don't seem to have read the room. With budgets coming up too...

@65_group @thinkdefence @Strategyforwar1 @RUSI_org @17_RLC @BritishArmy @3rdUKDivision @LogisticThinker Amen. Whether its over beaches or opening up ports, anything ship to shore, or back again, invariably involves a fair amount of military engineering.

@Jack_Watling @Conflict_arch Sounds brilliant, hope to catch up with this chapter, assume Med came under Log? So many lessons learned in this area.

Great article and overview, I can't say the invisible hand of capitalism and unchecked free market has been good for UK's defence industrial base, in comparison to the way in which other countries see it as a strategic asset, not a liability @war_student
Is Britain’s defence industrial base prepared for the future? "Continuing to rebalance toward sovereignty of action over cost effectiveness is essential, especially in a world where allies and competitors alike appear less predictable." - Dr @war_student

This is really rather significant. When two worlds combine. Not sure how it will practically work, no doubt there will be friction.
The IDF has started its first recruitment for the ultra-orthodox brigade ‘Hahashmonaim’. ◾️Approx. 50 ultra-orthodox recruits enlisted today, forming the brigade’s first company. ◾️Approx. 100 additional ultra-orthodox people will be part of the brigade’s first reserves company after an intensive 6-month training. This marks a key step in integrating the ultra-orthodox community into the IDF, aligning with their way of life and addressing the operational needs arising from the ongoing war.

“It’s hard to wake up [political] leaders who are pretending to be asleep.” We also need to be objective about UK forces being 'superbly' trained. In some cases, at some levels - absolutely. In the grand scheme of things, much to do.
