Evidence doesn't back this up. In fact, Everton usually get these soft penalties at Anfield where their striker initiates contact. Problem here for them was, they had the biggest diver in the league chancing his arm, and the ref was wise to it.

The key difference or problem here, is the origins of that Revenue column. More specifically, the commercial income. City funded through self-sponsorship, United sponsored by third parties (like most clubs). We'll know more in the summer about how City manipulated this.

Yes, but given it's a subjective call, and the ref saw it and deemed it a yellow live, how, exactly, was the threshold for C&O VAR intervention met? Compared with, how VAR didn't get involved with the Kovacic foul, which had far greater intensity.
