Her crime was running past an American Bully. For that, she was mauled.
Two men jumped in to save her, so the dog then turned on them.

The reaction to the abortion case last week was disgusting too. The child was 34 weeks.
This 12 year sentence seems pointlessly punitive. She was 15 when pregnant. She was having unprotected sex 'because he did not like wearing condoms'. Her father 'could be cruel.' She was abused. She was vulnerable. This is so, so upsetting.

The UK should have regional governments, with half the national infrastructure budget devolved on a proportional per-capita ratio.
It would make it a lot less appealing for either side to cancel or scale back large projects.
Meanwhile in France --> construction should start next year on the extension of the high speed railway to Toulouse. Last year, and I think this devolved funding is key to success, the regions (40%), the state (40%), and the EU (20%) locked in the funding.

The primary business case is removing intercity services from the WCML, MML, & ECML so that more local commuter services can run on those tracks instead.
It's about improving local services in the Midlands & the North.

The old town is super nice. She lives in Telliskivi, a cool old warehouse district with lots of independent cafes and bars and an art scene.
It's a small centre though. You don't realise it's actually a 500k city.
