Or less sensationally, if UK troops off duty in Japan commit murder, they can expect, in extremis, to face full force of Japanese law. How outrageous... One way you could avoid this outcome is by, perhaps, not murdering someone while off duty?

The UK is the only major NATO nation to not raise defence spending since the invasion of Ukraine. Massive defence cuts seem imminent unless spending rises. We are on verge of a critical failure of Government to keep the nation safe from all threats.

I am pleased for England, but struggling to understand the logic that says its 'safe' for thousands of fans to joyously celebrate without masks or social distancing at Wembley, but somehow my small local amateur choir is seen as a lethal COVID killer if they dare sing together.

Mah Na Mah Na is now over 50yrs old. At times it feels like its been stuck in my head for a lot more than that...

November 30, 1969: the Muppets appear on The Ed Sullivan Show and perform “Mah Na Mah Na”, which had been sung on Sesame Street only 3 days prior This version now featured the Snowths, and would be the basis for all future Muppet versions of the song 50 Years of Mahna Mahna ❤️

In the 1980s this SECRET MOD paper, now in the Archives, set out the likely targets for Soviet conventional attack on the UK in the event of war and the aircraft forces likely to be used for the attack.

15 nations, including 11 NATO member states, want to buy the C130s the RAF is retiring early as part of UK defence cuts to save money, and this decision will lead to a Special Forces capability gap for nearly 2 years...

As the British Army leaves Germany after 75 years permanent presence, it is astonishing to reflect on how large BAOR once was. This link is to a 140 page ORBAT covering the units and roles of the force in 1989.

Idiotic article by someone who doesn't have a clue how Carrier Strike works, and who has no idea about international involvement in CVBG. How does this rubbish keep getting published?

An appalling article, which utterly (and conveniently) ignores the reality that the Falkland Islanders have repeatedly made clear that they wish to remain British. An awful abandonment of the wishes of people violently invaded by an aggressive power.

Great image from social media of both HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH and a pair of Royal Canadian Navy 'KINGSTON' class MCDV's. I have a huge soft spot for HMCS KINGSTON, having spent my 20th birthday at sea onboard her. A wonderful ship and many happy memories of my time there.

Never forget that Canada had the responsibility to take one of the five beaches on D-Day. For an army that in 1939 was tiny, this shows the level of growth, and sacrifice made by so many to ensure Canada could stand as an equal partner.
