Like I could see if they told the kid to save for merch, my sister does that with her two kids (7&4). They save their birthday/holiday money and they can use it on whatever they want when we go on vacation (they use it for the arcade).

I currently work with kids at an elementary school and sometimes drop offs are tough, we literally tell the parent to drop and go. Staying to try and calm the kid makes it exponentially worse. The kids are literally fine within 10 minutes and go about their day happy as can be.
