please read up on nullification. Returning a not guilty vote is the only way to nullify. It's the understanding that the defendant has 100% violated the law, but believing they should not be punished for violating that law, and thus voting not guilty.

That's a discussion to be had with other jurors in the deliberation room, where there is guaranteed privacy. If you convince everyone else that the law is prima facie unjust, then you can return a not guilty ruling without the Judge ever being able to overrule your judgement.

Judges CAN overrule Guilty verdicts in criminal cases, but CANNOT overrule Not Guilty verdicts.
The only other time that a Judge can overrule a judgement is in a civil litigation case if the Jury finds excessively in favor of one side or the other.
