@alanthefisher This just reenforces the argument that frequency is the thing that will actually change peoples perceptions more than anything. 18 one way trips between West palm and Miami, meanwhile Amtrak’s River Runner between KC and STL barely has one service a day most of the time.

It’s not like KC is working with nothing, so we should leverage those bones to flesh out a denser city with more extensive transit than a 2.2mi Streetcar

There is a major suburban city that is further SE of this area along the same rail corridor. Putting a transit system along this ROW means you’d connect that suburb to the city center & stadium

This building at 101 West Linwood, is set for demolition. This building was recently listed for sale with a selling point being “easy redevelopment”. Owner info: Kansas 101 Linwood LLC 10951 Lake View Avenue, Lenexa, Kansas 66219. That address goes to MISH Hospital and Clinics.

@the_transit_guy Depends on what factor you’re measuring the underrated-ness, but I’m always going to argue Kansas. Cheap COL, great climate for humans, great climate to grow food, incredibly interesting and deep history. Yes, it’s absolutely flat, boring, and empty, but there is beauty here too.

@maxdubler @Dan_From_Reddit Kansas City is what I’m assuming this would be referencing, and our transit system has gotten noticeably worse since going fare free. The only fareless part of the system that does even reasonably well is the streetcar and some of the BRT-esque lines.
