I know a couple that broke up a month before the wedding because the bride wouldn't let the groom have a photo of his deceased mother at the parents table because it would be "too much of a distraction". They really do think the day is literally about them as an individual.

Honestly? I think the issue is that sex education has been so stripped back with this generation that the only example of sex they have been exposed to is outright pornography, which is fantasy based, so more violent and misogynistic than actual sex.

I taught sex ed to 12 year Olds when I was in college. Most of the girls had much older boyfriends. It starts MUCH earlier than you think, which is why parents need to have frank and comprehensive talks about sex with their children WAY before highschool

I watched a brilliant TED talk on this year's ago. Basically when you don't talk to kids about sex, they go looking for info themselves. So when porn shows men degrading women during sex, boys think that's what they should be doing and girls think that's what they should accept.
