@JayinKyiv
This is how Russia's going to play it then I guess... Just bit by bit make an entire country uninhabitable until they can't carry on. I hate Putin and everything he stands for and it's a shame the rest of the world didn't have the balls to stand up to him
@JamesEsses
@IndiaWilloughby
India's profile reads "Indisputably female". But wasn't India born male? I thought the whole trans thing was they claim you can change *gender* (man/woman) because they'd accepted that *sex* (male/female) was biological and "beyond contestation"? Have I missed something?
@scottm
@ejrosetta
It sounds like you're saying people should be prevented from exercising freedom of choice to buy her book (and we know she's a great author) because a smallish number of people have a vendetta against her for standing up for something many others agree with?
@sharrond62
What really grates is that there aren't HUNDREDS of other Olympians & world class athletes, male & female, shouting this message from the rooftops. It shouldn't have been just left to you to take this stand. 100% behind you.
@Alisdisgrace
@sharrond62
This. Otherwise records will already have been set that will stand for many, many years that should rightly be broken by female athletes. Were currently denying today's - and a future generation of female athletes - the chance of becoming record holders.
@souramoo
Your gross monthly pay is over £600/month more than mine but I take home £30/month more than you. It's the deductions that are killing your pay-packet. Part of that I guess is the pension (a very nice one, but hard to afford!) but I guess a lot of the rest is student loan? :(
@tmsilverman
This should never have happened to you anyway. I'd be contacting RedBull and asking if they're going to be contacting 'him', asking for the return of the prize money (to re-award) if it's true, as well as holding & publicising a corrected prize presentation.
@mysticsid1
@radsadmadmom
Agree 100% with this. Something very odd has been allowed to take hold of society without being challenged (or rather people are being demonised when they do challenge it), and it's happened very quickly.
@MrMatthewTodd
@BBCNews
I think sadly too many of those in power and those with wealth do believe it but know that they will be ok and that the worst collapses won't happen within their lifetimes. They have no incentive to actually fix anything and know that to try would be incredibly expensive for them
@Oksii33
I keep getting DMs from people purporting to be Ukrainian soldiers or fundraisers who have clearly seen me interacting with other Ukrainians I trust. Never send them money directly or even reply to the DMs. Hope someone genuine hasn't missed out due to me being over-cautious
@MargoGontar
Don't talk in the past tense, Margo, I want to keep hearing from you for a long time to come. One day I want to come out to Ukraine and meet you and thank you in person for keeping us up to date with what's happening day by day.
@MrSpurs90
I'm so so sorry. That photo of you (?) lying there could have been of me & Bailey when I had him put to sleep aged 14, also for a tumour. It's so important to be with them at the end; I was lying on the floor at the vets, holding his paw & stroking his head as he went.
@JoseHaroPeralta
@RichardJMurphy
I recently added chocolate and crisps to the list of things I now can't buy regularly. I can see myself turning vegetarian soon but not by choice. Anything remotely enjoyable is now becoming an unaffordable luxury.
@strategywoman
You absolutely do, Yara. We all need to do more to help you - you personally and 'you' as Ukrainians. Every day you're safe and still posting is a positive, and you should be incredibly proud of what you're doing bringing awareness to us all. (p.s. Ukraine on the news tonight)
@Lemonhunny
@RichardJMurphy
I was expecting my £437 to become £520 given recent BoE intervention. Following mini-budget, now £640. This is not global factors, this was absolutely Truss & Kwarteng.
@sophielouisecc
Yes, but Sophie, look what happened when we *did* let the membership have a vote. Quickest and worst destruction of the economy I've ever witnessed in my life. I wouldn't trust them to pour a glass of water.
@fearandlothians
@rawlimark
@Lowkey0nline
Agreed. He knew exactly what he was doing, he saw the signs, he deliberately abused the police and got within a couple of seconds of the convoy. Police had literally no time to react, of course they were going to hit hard.
@PippaCrerar
So basically Kwarteng/Truss have trashed the mortgage market for nothing. They didn't need some clever, radical mini-budget; all they needed to do was put in place the support for energy bills which we all expected and they had 3+ months to plan. Everything else was unnecessary.
@B1EMW
@harryph
I was just about to tweet this and thought, you know, I can't be bothered. There's just no way you can compare tax rates in any 2 countries using a simple metric when they have such different expenditure models
@JayinKyiv
They're not even pretending they're military targets anymore. There's no justification, no explanation. It's just premeditated murder and they don't give a f*ck who knows it. Someone has to call Putin's bluff before he systemically removes an entire nation from existence.

I have no Sky, no Netflix, drive a cheap old car, a SIN-only phone contract (£14/month). In this day and age a smart phone or home broadband is basically a necessity due to how the world works. I drink less, eat cheaper, use less gas/elec & hardly go out but still falling behind
@JI_Mgt
@paullewismoney
I thought pensioners got an uplift in line with inflation last year (10s Google search just now confirmed rise from £185 to £203/wk 2022 to 2023). That's over 10%. I work full time and 1.86% last year on a below-national-average salary wage.
@RichardJMurphy
Of course they won't. They're so arrogant and personally financially secure that they'd rather throw us all to the dogs than admit they called this wrong and have to step down.
@Foodie2023
@KyivIndependent
How exactly do you expect Zelensky to end a war started by Russia, when Russia - unprovoked - invaded Ukraine? What's the solution?
@trussliz
The damage to my mortgage is done. As a result of your 44 days in going to pay just under £3000 extra on my mortgage over the next 2 years. That's £3000 I don't know how I'm going to find on top of everything else. Your legacy for me is throwing away £4 a day. Every day. Thanks
@TheRealFlups
I thought I was the only one suffering this problem! I have to stand the fourth one up sideways, squish it a bit and then crush the packet against a wall to keep the open end sort of closed 🤣 (it's also easier if you take out the cardboard sheet lol)
@MichaelCGlasper
Getting annoyed when the music in a pub (or anywhere) is loud enough to make a group conversation impossible, and I can't even talk to a person beside me without alternately shouting at them & turning my ear to their mouth.
@PeterSweden7
How is it 80,000 tons? I thought the pipelines weren't in use. Can imagine gas escaping as water flooded in but... 80,000 tons? Presumably the pipes have valves every few miles that can be shut off?
@sophielouisecc
No. We don't mind every colour they are, or if they're m/f/other, we just don't want them to be completely out of touch with reality and the general population, which these two are.
@GSowray
You have to take this further, it's totally unfair that on Christmas day a married resident can have a guest but a single/widowed one cannot. Newspapers, MP. "name and shame" the home? I'm boiling over this
@strategywoman
Good morning Yara, good to see you safe and well this morning! Sadly nothing about Ukraine on the early morning news in the UK but I'll keep sharing your message. It's a brighter, blue-sky today and I hope it's pleasant for you too.
@mara_yamauchi
To all these people saying Parkrun isn't competitive, surely the simple answer is for Parkrun to not publish anyone's times. At all. Why don't they do that? As it's non competitive no-one cares how they've done or if they've improved and they'll just all turn up for fun anyway.
@hatpinwoman
@drlouisejmoody
As someone that's chatted, albeit briefly, with Henrietta before this news is awful, and I hope she feels able to safely come back soon. I also know that if I retweet this I'll be labelled a transphobe.
How did we get here? How can people be so hateful to her and others like her?
@WhistleblowingT
You're about to have more holiday between now and when the autumn term starts than I, and most working adults in the country, get in *the whole year*. Enjoy your extra week off, spare a thought for your colleagues now doing your work as well as theirs at an already hectic time.
@BBCMaryam
🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant! I never even knew your name until a few weeks ago, but now you have a place in history. Hope you've had a very Happy Christmas!
@ilporticolondon
I have no idea who you are and I had no idea you had a restaurant. I have no idea where it is, but I shall make it my mission to come and eat there with friends next time I'm in the city
@ellieokwilson
@Gumtree
This is mad. I'm a man but totally understand why a woman would want a female flatmate. Any men can just walk on by and look for other ads, so why should Gumtree get so excited?
@FoxgirlGoRawr
@JamesEsses
@IndiaWilloughby
I can't honestly believe you've actually asked that. I'm not "popping off" about anything: it's a physical impossibility for every male cell in a male body become female, so mentioning the science is absurd.
Here it is, the final video of the 2019 Henley Boat Races Lightweight Women's Varsity VIIIs race.
This video is a composite of footage shot from the launch, both drones and Temple Island, and features a soundtrack created from the voice recordings...
@Peston
That's brilliant! So tomorrow morning the 6.5% fixed rate mortgage deals will be back down to 3.77% like they were on the morning of the day of the mini-budget? Awesome, I'll phone my lender in the morning and tell them that's all I'm prepared to go to.

I went through my childhood not going on the school ski trips, trips to Rome etc. but that didn't mean I think they shouldn't have happened. As a teacher though I organised trips on a shoestring (e.g. a week's skiing in France for £550), by coach not by air, room sharing etc
@GeorgeTheDoor2
And this is why I hate getting "feedback" from dates, or even work, friends etc. Too many people spit in your face totally unnecessarily and justify it by saying, hey, I'm just being honest, or it's for your benefit etc etc
@OliLondonTV
@GretaThunberg
Bullshit. Until reading Greta's post just now I had NEVER heard about anything relating to an octopus having anything to do with antisemitism. Accept it when she says she didn't know.
@SteveRobson04
They'll be doing this to me next: I turned off the boiler in June and didn't turn it back on until today (apart from 1hr/month just to check it still worked). My energy bill for Sept, Oct & Nov for elec & gas combined in a 3-bed house has been no more than £62/month.
@Parody_PM
🤣🤣 brilliant. Love how even when he says, "were just being told that was Liz Truss getting out of the car", he doesn't clock that it's her mid-frame following the next cut of the camera

@DrHoenderkamp
Utter bull. When I WFH I'm at my desk earlier, I rarely take a lunch break and I'm more willing to work later as the second I log off I'm at home ready for 'life'. My IT works, I'm undisturbed, I don't have to waste time booking and relocating to meeting rooms.

There's something about living by the sea. It's also said that just being by water, walking by water, seeing water, for about 20 mins a day is really good for your mental health

Until a minute ago I'd never considered that ants smell. Never ever heard of anyone saying they can smell ants. Apparently some can though 🤷♂️
@livmattock
Liv, this isn't a good sign. The amount of alcohol in 1 litre of vodka is getting on for twice as much as there is on 12 500ml cans of beer. You need to break away from this before it takes holds of you
@Gfilche
@elonmusk
I think some of what

posts of incisive and brilliant and other tweets of his are less relevant. What I do like is that somehow he finds time to respond to people he doesn't know and who he's probably never heard of. I could (and would) work for someone like that.
@DrJessTaylor
@JazzTulip
Exactly. Only ever done that with one woman and it was her idea. I didn't feel comfortable and she wanted me to do it harder. It's about the only time I've been worried 'in the bedroom'.
@katherinealee
That's outrageous! I did my CAA course 3 years ago and we were informed of a strict 400-ft altitude limit and to land the drone immediately (even if it meant ditching into water) if we even saw another aircraft anywhere near. Sadly now that course isn't required
@paulwarmo
@YPLAC
All the berks saying "just walk around it". Not so easy for wheelchair users or elderly walking with stick/frame where a normal kerb becomes a hazard. You then also have elderly walking potentially very slowly down the middle of the road. Wish there was a simple solution... 🤷♂️
@paperghost
Ok, I thought this was going to be total b/s... but it sort of worked. Not totally, and strangely was better when I was sitting up than when I lay down, but it did make everything much quieter than usual. Need to experiment more.
@hughlaurie
I'm sorry, it's heartbreaking. My Bailey will be there to guide your Bailey, and I'm sure they'll wreak havoc together! Mine's been exploring 'the other side' for 7 years this week, he made it to 14 & 2 months.
@trussliz
It sickens me that having financially destroyed so many of us you're personally lining your pockets (despite already being worth millions) from a book where you have the gall to tell people what the solutions are to a crisis you massively contributed to.
@lottiecgross
/2 now (hopefully) about to become a bus driver, starting salary over £32k. Yeah, that's a great use of someone with a decent science degree and several years management experience - but if it'll pay the bills then I'm up for the change.
@innocent
Maybe I'm being a bit thick here but, having watched your storybook video 3 times... can you let me in on what it is that people are objecting to? Genuinely confused and don't get the hatred directed at you.
