It’s incredible to me that in the Tylenol situation, all product was pulled immediately, packaging changed immediately.
But in a viral pandemic, we can’t get people to wear masks and socially distance to help save lives all over the county. Like it’s not my responsibility.

There are a number of interventions that that you and your colleague who taught this student and your admin didn’t do that failed this student. The student is the client and also a child, remember that.

Umm your therapist is uncomfortable because you wearing a mask shows that Covid is indeed not over. Good for you for getting a new therapist. FYI, My husband and I are still masking up, too.

Let them roll their eyes. No one will advocate harder for you than you. If a doctor should find themselves in the same situation, they’ll remember the patients who had their records, notes and scans and be ashamed for treating patients this way.
@cojehp
Sigh, the neurologist is wrong on so many levels. There is no immunity debt for Covid unless he’s talking about Long Covid or worse. Covid cases are on the rise everywhere globally so continuing to mask is still a great idea. I’m not sure why so many doctors struggle with this.

Sure it is, in a society, we agree on certain rules that, for one, protect people. We agree that drunk driving is a crime — if you’re drunk and driving and hurt me, that affects my health. If you knowingly pass on an STD, it’s a criminal act that affects a person’s health.
The logic Sen Grassley presents is confusing: How will universal background checks turn law-abiding citizens into criminals? Is he suggesting people will buy guns illegally to bypass the background check?
So our country is at the point of going from keeping kids in cages to infecting them with a potentially deadly disease and then sending them off to work. Splendid.

The CDC has released its revised opioid-prescribing guidelines. Just like the 2016 guidelines, it doesn’t include input from pain management physicians or the chronic pain community. I know many of you have been affected by this. Here’s our opportunity to have our voices heard.
Below please find a community sign-on letter for the new CDC Clinical Practice Guideline Draft that we will post to the Federal Register Monday at the close of business.

Having debt and having a low credit score are not even related. You can pay it off but your score will still suck. You have to jump through other hoops to boost your credit score.
And yet the Trump Administration just announced this week it is cutting production of opioid pain medication by one-third again this year. The numbers from the CDC just don’t add up, and pain patients are caught in an excruciating painful middle.

I’m sorry to have to break it to you, but this isn’t hyperbole.

Also, if anything has been found to be true about the 2020 election is that many Republicans cheated to try and overthrow it. From people voting in the wrong state to voting twice to Trump calling a state official to “find 11,000 more votes,” it’s clear Biden won.

Until they can change enough USPS board members to fire DeJoy, we are in a bind. And last time I checked, the Dems don’t have control of Congress: the House is controlled by Republicans and the Senate is a narrow margin depending on the issue.
A key issue is that a task force member Dr. Chou, is also a member of PROP, an anti-opioid group, has admitted to having a financial conflict of interest when it comes to opioid medication.

There was a coverup, because rescue efforts were stopped just when they were close enough to reach the girl. And then no one was allowed to talk about it. That’s a cover up. Why do you let a person die and then stop people from talking about it?
So is “persistent opioid use” (POU) a new pre-addiction diagnosis that’s being used to further eradicate prescription pain medication from our society? Sadly, I think John Irving would appreciate the Cider House Rules analogy.

Morgan, you’ve just discovered a key way to how the medical machine works in the US: The patient becomes the doctor. In this situation, you walk a fine line bc you’ll accumulate so much information that you may offend doctors with oversized egos, who make your life miserable.

Same theory applies with viruses, except it’s not illegal, but if you pass on Covid because you couldn’t be bothered to mask up, you’re affecting my health. If I become ill, you’re responsible. I’m masked up but am immunocompromised, so I rely on others to at least mask up …

I’d rather have a colonoscopy with a corkscrew without sedation than read Mike Pence’s autobiography. How can he explain his inaction to prevent the deaths of 400,000 people and millions of others who contracted the disease? This occupied a year of his vice presidency.
Brent Sloan did everything right. While out of town, he went to the ER & then saw a pain specialist. His records were sent & still he was denied the full amount of medication needed. My sympathies to his loved ones for this preventable situation.

Not necessarily. But it seems likely that Casey Jo had a chronic pain situation and her doctor tapered her off of opioid medication. The reason for that may vary but it could be the doctor was facing issues with an insurance company, pharmacy, or the DEA. I am speculating here.
Advocates in the chronic pain community who have been working with state and federal lawmakers to undo anti-opioid medication laws have prepared a statement. It’s available in Andrea Anderson’s tweet above. It’s requesting that the CDC revoke its guidelines completely.

It’s not what she did to make the situation worse. Its that her boyfriend has an anger problem and thinks it’s ok to emotionally and physically abuse people. There are probably other people in his life that he has done this, too.
Three years after police and paramedics murdered Elijah McCain, the autopsy report is amended to correctly reflect that he died from being “forcibly restrained” and injected with Ketamine. The man was just walking home from the store and his neighbors felt he looked “suspicious.”

If you’d like to sign the statement, please do so by tomorrow afternoon. The message will be sent by the end of the business day.
