@Protect_ServeUK 1. Abolish direct entry at any rank other than uniform PC 2. Min of 3yrs per rank before eligible for promotion. 3. Promotion purely on merit, not 'Woke' box-ticking 4. Cease co-operation with overtly anti-police Mayor 5. Reinstate vetting and backdate it for all serving officers

@Ex_arv_sgt I was investigated by the IOPC (rightly so) following a death in custody on my watch. They were really gunning for me, until the inquest jury found 'No fault by any police officer'. The silence of the IOPC was deafening. Not one word accepting the verdict, they just skulked away.

@vernalscott Most police officers have been - or will be - subject to false allegations at some point. It's a pity that there few options for recourse for the officers even where the counter-evidence (BWV) is conclusive. There is little deterrent to malicious accusations

@Protect_ServeUK Could be a new podcast idea for you - interview some cops who actually worked with her during her failed police career and find out what she REALLY did. I would hazard a guess it'd be a far cry from the way she's portrayed herself in her book.

@vernalscott I'm in the 'ex-police and book sales' category, but I completely agree with you. Those who are 'ex' (and in many cases 'failed') police officers and who now use the media and social media to vent their own grievances are part of the problem, not the solution. Just my opinion.

@CopMoustache Once had a call to disturbance at an off-licence I happened to be driving right past, so on scene in under 10sec. First words from the victim "You took your bloody time. They've gone." The delay was in the 999 and call handling system. Easier to blame the response cop though.

@Brick_Cop @GeorgeNicolasUK @metpoliceuk To add more context, when I joined back in the 80s a response team of about 20 cops would police a borough of about 200,000 people. Today that same team is likely to be policing an area with 1.5 to 2 million. That's before you add in the modern demands of MH, hosp guards etc.

@Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk The decline of S&S started way back in 2014 when, to appease certain communities, a DAC declared that any S&S that didn't yield a result would be a 'Negative Performance Indicator' for the officer. Like many I virtually ceased S&S at that point, deciding it wasn't worth the risk.
