For a non metropolitan force, the 15 officers who were not discharged from hospital in Southport likely represent a full response shift. There are no EXTRA officers to replace them. Just the same number of officers working more hours or redeployed from somewhere else.

Yesterday we had MPs actively stating that we should ignore the law. Today the Met is being criticised for not enforcing laws that don’t even exist. Any chance society could collectively just decide what it wants and stick to it?

In response to criticism of officers footwear The Met has decided to issue new dress guidelines so that the general public can identify plain clothes detectives more easily. Example dress code as below:-

The Met officers in London still getting a great reception from the public. Outside of Twitter it appears the conduct of the operation was well received. think it’s over to Windsor now, so please make adjustments to the usual ‘X is North Korea / Nazi Germany / China’ formula

Is this account suggesting that officers observe some sort of fasting period that only applies when he could be exposed to daylight? I don’t know but I’m guessing the OP would be just as upset if he observed said fasting period.

I can’t be the only person who thinks it is highly unprofessional for a policeman to be drinking coffee on the street whilst he is working and policing an event.

One of these places is The Cenotaph. Both, however, are places where people are encouraged to visit and say prayers. Let’s stop looking for opportunities to shit on each other shall we?

We don’t need more legislation. We just need to start enforcing the legislation we already have. And maybe, just maybe, build some more prisons.

Today, Parliament has the chance to ban ninja swords - lethal weapons which have been used to kill on Britain's streets. Families & communities across country face devastating knife crime. Up 80% since 2015. I’m urging Tory Ministers to vote for our plan. No excuse not to act.

The more I read about Katherine Birbalsingh and the court judgement the more annoyed I’m getting. I’m particularly annoyed that her school is so far away and I can’t send my own children to it.

An interview I did with @peterboghossian some weeks ago about our school ethos. We discuss reasons for banning prayer rituals and the fight that has been to keep Michaela open all these years.

When humberside Police pushed back on attending mental health calls, they saved over 32000 officer hours. This is the equivalent of having one officer dealing with MH calls for 15 solid years, which I’m sure you’ll all agree is a f@(king terrible shift.
