@LevineJonathan Illiteracy was prevalent then. Written records were very rare. Infants were usually christened three days after birth at that time, so check local parish records? Lots of girls were named Taylor and spelling wasn’t standardized till later, so may still be hard to know for sure.

My Army officer dad said we “gave at the office” growing up and shouldn’t feel any compulsion to serve. More specifically, he told me, the theater kid with an authority problem, “it wouldn’t be fair to you, and it wouldn’t be fair to the Army.” Which always struck me as valid.

@clhubes @ghoulcabin And I am 35 years old, I don’t want my friends turning my dining room table into a beer pong table. I like my dining room. The rug was expensive. Plus, I realize now in a way I didn’t in my teens and early 20s, beer pong is incredibly unhygienic.
