@iam_preethi South Asians have 4x the risk of coronary disease vs the general population Preventing this starts early, ideally in 20s-30s. Omega-3s, Vit D (also usually lower in south asians) and regular exercise (pref zone 2 and HIIT). Diet also plays a big role. Start early, be proactive

@balajis @joncross Agree. In a DeSci model, one can implement governance via the blockchain. This allows for efficiency and clarity. Transparent trial approvals on-chain by experts globally (not just favoring US pharma companies). Same should be done for credentialing and other bottlenecks.

@amasad I work at 4 different hospitals from East Bay down to South Bay/SJ and it’s become so rampant. Not a day goes by without seeing multiple cases, so sad. ‘Rainbow Fentanyl’ is more potent and easier to get regular meds

@brownedbanana @SmalllIvy @TPP_MD Bottleneck only really exists at the residency level. Medical schools have a financial incentive (uncapped federal student loans) to continue to expand as fast as possible which is what we've seen in the last decade. Residency spots are Congress controlled.

Due to obesity stigma… Many patients who take GLP-1 medicines like Ozempic etc. don’t feel comfortable even telling others they are on the medicine. There is NO shame in using these medicines to help with your weight (if clinically indicated).

@morgancheatham Would be clutch in the hospital. Most of the battle is morphology with derm since so many systemic issues cause it. Usually don’t even need a dermatologist to treat it, just a good medication. I use visual Dx during rounds, it’s solid, but slow and not always consensus

Health PSA on this one: I don't make a regular habit of outdoor exercise before ~8 am in SF for immunity reasons. A 5ºC drop in internal nasal temperature decreases efficacy of one of the upper respiratory system's primary infection barriers by >40%.
