My niche opinion about DC urbanism is that we should have 1 of every regional chain/fast food chain to serve as embassies of regional American culture. We should have a Waffle House, a Culver's, Whataburger, In-N-Out, etc.

@Arbitrary_user @wanyeburkett @usethesonic That is the case in DC. Most of the pedestrian deaths are in black majority neighborhoods, but efforts to curb dangerous driving like speed cameras, towing delinquent vehicles, and traffic calming are fiercely opposed because it would be “inequitable”.

@BobbyBorkIII It was a decrepit wreck when Apple bought it. The city had long since abandoned it for a modernist library nearby (MLK). Apple saved the building. They even threw in a history exhibit that's open to the public.

So awful to see riots outside of @bluemoonhotel. They don’t deserve the bigotry. My fiancé @AlexanderPayton and I had such a lovely stay there. The converted tenement rooms are amazing. If you’re staying in the lower east side do give them a look.

My main reaction to Dune 2 is that I wanted to disappear completely into my seat at the sight of Timmy C leading Muslim-coded freedom fighters against imperial forces before an enraptured audience. I felt embarrassed.

If it’s one of the low platforms on the eastern end you gotta wait in the queue. There’s hacks at Philly 30th St and NY Moynihan to avoid the queues too.

@BobbyBorkIII Can’t tell if that’s the exact flight path, but the helo is on of the common helicopter routes, it goes under the approach of a less commonly used runway.

Philly has doors and stairs opposite from the escalator queue that will take you to the same track. Been a minute since I’ve used 30th St though.

@BobbyBorkIII Helo is more maneuverable, tower would ask you to maintain visual separation, sequence behind the landing jet. If the altitude data is correct then the helo was also above the max helo altitude for that route, 200 ft.
